I had to look up dog rose jam. We call it rose hips.

Yes, I believe it. I even think that it must be called rose hips. I just read an article in German who states not to mistake the dog rose for the bush-rose (also called wild rose) which is the right one. Their jam is called in German "Hiffenmark". I obviously had used a wrong translation. Thank you!
