My older brother lived for a couple of years with his friend’s family in his late teens.
Bro told me whenever the family was watching a mystery movie, the father would stand up right at the juncture of the movie when you’re going to find out ‘who did it’…and announce that he was going to make some toast…then off to the kitchen he would go!
I just thought this was hilarious, and to this day (decades later) I still say “Well. I’m going to make some toast” whenever something exciting is about to happen to me!
