This morning I came across two young women and a whole posse of kids.
They had one of those huge prams with really big wheels (common in the 50s/60s), it was absolutely chocker-block full of elderberries, with bags hanging over the sides filled with blackberries. All the kids had purple mouths from gorging on the fruit.
I asked one of the ladies what they were going to do with all their berries........"Wine", they said. They were part of a wine making circle.
Did you ever use a pram for this purpose?
Did you ever make wine from fruit from the hedgerows?
