Well. That was a mistake!

I started reading the recipes board and these threads, and now I want to cook and eat and cook and eat. I'd have to eat it all, of course, because I hate for food to get thrown away. I'd much rather it go to...waist:ROFLMAO:

I've been wanting to make Swedish meatballs. There are two ham steaks in DD's fridge. And I've been jonesing for corn casserole, the kind that's made with Jiffy cornbread mix. A chicken pot pie wouldn't be hard to take, either. And then I'd really like to dig into some hot fudge pudding cake topped with vanilla bean ice cream.

I get hungry in the fall, but the weather is still at least six weeks away from what could be construed--by any stretch of the imagination--as cool.

Talk me down!

And furthermore, Debodun posted a recipe for a beef and sausage stew the other day that I want to try. While we're at it, let's not forget baked pork chops with apples and dressing or hamburger veggie soup with onion bread. A little steak soup and homemade white bread would go a long way, too. Am I the only one who's hungry?

ROFLMAO!

Glad I'm not the only one who's appetite starts to spike come autumn! Once cooler days are here, both dear husband and I start craving the likes of thicker, more heartier meals... meals along the likes of stews, pasta dishes, casseroles, and whatever else sticks to the ribs.

Seems whatever pittance of pounds I enjoy loosing over the course of the summer months, I gain back quickly as soon as fall rolls around.

Heck our weather won't be cool for weeks and weeks. The coolest temp in the extended 10-day forecaset is 89. Maybe it's just that the calendar is saying "it's almost autumn so get hungry."

As far as I'm concerned that is more than a good enough excuse to delve into! :)

Not to worry. It's perfectly natural. Blame Mother Nature. It's the same instinct that makes squirrels hide nuts.

Oh, I see. It's like how bears do before hibernating. Humans also need to have plenty of fuel on board to keep warm and survive the winter. Ohh-kay then. I should probably move back North. Our winters here are usually short and very mild. Even if I only gain five pounds a year, after 10 years I'll weigh 50 lbs more!

I'm suffering from the "Covid-15". That's the 15 pounds I've gained in the past few months. Sit at home and eat. Rinse and repeat. Gym closed for months. Too hot to go out and walk, even after dark. Clothes don't fit; not safe to go to the mall. Excuses, excuses. My problem is that I like to eat and the isolation has given me an excuse, at least to myself.

Who needs cooler weather to overeat. Almost everyone I know is complaining that they've gained weight due to COVID! I have not ventured into the recipe group yet, mostly because I'm a lazy cook who prefers very quick, easy recipes. In fact, if it needs a recipe to cook it, I'm probably not interested. :D

OED...who needs complicated? My favorite cookbooks are the ones that are contain recipes for "the lazy cook," or require "fewer than five ingredients." Shoot, there are zillions of them, and I should know because I have shelves full of them๐Ÿ˜

You go ahead and blame COVID. If I gain weight, I'll be 100% truthful and admit that it's because I found something that tasted good and crammed it in with both hands

Well, you can always go to discount stores like Ross Dress for Less and buy clothes in bigger sizes...jussayin.

By Jove, I think I've got it! You've heard of multi-tasking. Ima change it to multi-snacking. >Gramma sets off for the kitchen to gather up snacks<
