Were you a fast efficient worker?

Have never been noted for my speed and efficiency.
Most employers are looking for that imo. In all fields really.
Im even slower now.
But I am careful and i try to do a good job.

I was when I started working. But after working in a few places, I was surprised to learn about the problems it can cause.
In 3 places I worked, my co-workers were really annoyed with me because they thought I was making them look lazy by comparison.
One supervisor kept telling me to "slow it down" & "Stop being such a company man."
 
Not sure that I was exceptionally fast or efficient, but I was pretty smart, learned new tasks fairly easily, was good at my work, and got along well with everybody.

I never had difficulty keeping a job or landing a new one.
 
I have always had a talent for finding for finding the sweet spot where I do just the minimum necessary to stay out of trouble. So from that perspective I consider myself extremely efficient with regard to amount of effort expended. :)

I am familiar with the technique. I called it "economy of motion".
 
Very efficient, but not fast. Any lawman has to take his time and write the facts as he/she knows them to be truthful. All reports must be neat, understandable and exact.
 
Yes I was a state case manager and laws would change rapidly and I would need to develop new systems in order to continue to meet my quota’s and follow the regulations. If I didn’t meet my quota I’d be put on suspension and I didn’t want that to happen so I had to make sure that I kept up. When I started that job I was able to be very creative and had a lot more flexibility, after about seven years it became very bureaucratic and I felt like a robot. Consequently, I’m very glad I’m retired!

I have been asked by many people about quotas. I was never given a quota or a command to write 'X' number of tickets. Never even came up. When we (any Trooper who writes a report and has a lot of certainty that the case may go before judge) our report went to our Barracks Commander before being submitted. This is allowed him the opportunity to review the case, as well as the facts that were stated in the report to make certain that everything was done properly.

I will add this. There was never a time when I was on Turnpike duty and using the radar did I ever rerun to the Barracks with not having written at least a few citations. People just don;t believe in obeying the speed limit, no matter how high it is. I remember it being as low as 55 mph and now it is set at 70 mph and we still have people out driving at 85-105 mph. Wife in the car, kids in the car, it doesn't matter. I think life means very little to them. I pulled one man over going 101 mph. When I walked up to the car, his wife was yelling at him and whacking him with her pocketbook. She yelled, "Are you trying to kill us?" I told her, "I believe he is."

I admire that. I was good enough on the keyboard but never as fast as I would have liked.

I was more into being thorough so not always super fast but efficient, yes.
