Were you blessed with a good singing voice?

I have found that there are many people who really have a great voice, but they never really capitalized on it.
Maybe they sang a little karaoke here and there, or just did some sing along at home, and that was all they never wanted to do.
Some actually sang in a group, or in plays, and had some fun with it.
All humbleness aside, how are your pipes when it comes to music?

I have had formal ear training (which means, in part, to sing), but I can't stand the wretchedness of my voice. Fingernails-on-the-blackboard awful, even in the shower.

I think Jimmy Stewart once said that his voice was so bad in the shower that the soap gets up and walks away. That's the level I'm at.

But, I'm an instrumentalist and I apply singing skills to my playing, using dynamics and vibrato, when appropriate.

As a child, I had a beautiful soprano singing voice. In 6th grade, or 5th, getting confused about my childhood, I had my tonsils out. Most kids had theirs out younger. After the tonsil removal, my voice dropped to alto, but never had that lovely voice that adults went crazy over, anymore.

Remember being on LIRR, Long Island Railroad, coming home from relatives on Christmas Eve. Broke into "Silent Night." My voice so clear adults on train literally in tears of joy at my impromptu performance. Got so much praise for my singing.

Never the same after the tonsils surgery. Lost my pitch, my tune carrying, everything. People have asked me to stop singing, including my grandson! Feel bad about that.

No, but in the mid ‘60s three friends and I formed a teen garage band and called ourselves the ‘Hip-Notics.’ I played drums and became the lead singer because no one else could remember any lyrics. Tommy played a great tambourine. Not really, but his dad had an empty garage.

I recently gave my drum set to my 5 year old great-granddaughter and her dad hasn’t spoken to me since.

I say No.... but it reminds me of a work colleague who had it in her mind that I could do everything well, and better than her ....so one day we were working together with a few other people and people were singing.. I usually never sing in public but that day.. I sang a few lines of ''He ain't heavy he's my brother''... and she slammed her work down.. and said loudly I KNEW IT..I just KNEW she'd be able to sing..
