Were You Ever a Partier?

My mother loved parties, and my father hated them. Their faces before departure to a party were a study in contrasts; my mother beaming joyous anticipation, and my father gloomy resignation. I take after my Dad; I really would rather stay at home and watch a movie, a documentary even... 😺

Well, of course........becoming an adult in the seventies and living on my own included a lot of partying. I worked as a barmaid in a exotic dancing bar (topless dancers) so I was surrounded by party people. Happy to say I never got addicted to anything and I went through that phase of my life intact. Got married to a man who had an accounting firm so thought I would say good by to that life. When we divorced I ended up married to my 2nd husband who was an alcoholic and by that time I did not drink or do any type of drugs. Needless to say I left that marriage after barely 2 years. Now I have not drank or smoked pot or anything else in years, even if I am surrounded by others doing so. No one can talk me into it either.

I am a product of the teen 60's and yes I never turned down a party. I mostly started to go to parties when I turned 16 and started experimenting with Pot and then things developed from there to trying Acid. I never tried anything other then those two drugs. During business school I was being a female in the minority and was always welcomed to the parties. I did not turn them down. These parties had a lot of beer which is not my thing, but the Pot was also there as well. Now I still like parties, but it is a much different type of party. There is no Pot or Acid and my drink of choice is usually a Dry Martini.

we have been to a few parties in our time 'some bored me rigid ' family ones where the best ' great memories .

Except for a few birthday parties in grade school I've never been to a party in my life. I've seen them on TV and movies and some of them look kind of fun. I've never been to a concert either and I am hoping some time in the future to go to one.
