West Virginia Floods Over Whelming, Take 26 Lives So Far.

Virginia Floods Over Whelming, Take 26 Lives So Far.

Nope. WEST Virginia Floods...... It's like they are two totally different states.

I've seen flash floods toss around old gas guzzler cars like they were nothing in a feet of water. The initial force of the water is frequently like a wave hitting the beach. And like hurricanes it's debris or floating debris instead of flying debris that can be a problem.

2016 is shaping up to be one for the record books...weather wise. Some parts of the nation have had extraordinary amounts of rainfall, while others are flirting with increasing drought conditions....and average temperatures continue to rise. Now, we have large forest fires already starting up in California...well ahead of the normal fire season, and this freak flood in W. Virginia. Locally, June has been nothing but excessive heat, and almost no rain. I have a feeling that this is going to be one of the longest and hottest Summers on record. I wonder what the Atlantic Hurricane season has in store for the nation.

We've had record heat for this time of year here, too. Today wasn't so bad, though; it was largely overcast. If our heat continues to rise as it usually does, I'll hate to see what August brings. We've already had temps over 100 here, and it's only June.
