What’s everyone’s opinion of Snug Safety, positives or negatives, how you use it?

I had Life Alert, with "fall" option. I hit the floor and the damn thing never went off. I threw it away, but I still got bills for months, saying it was working. Instead of buttons all over the house, I have an iPhone, which works outside the house. If you have an emergency, and if you're still competent, you can call 911. If you are not, you can't press any buttons, either. And Snug Safe kicks in. But if you live alone and can go days without anyone else in your home, what are you going to do?

I've been thinking of one of those alert pendants or whatever.
A gps tracker too if I go like my old Dad with the Dementia he had.
That's a fate worse than death imho.
I'm giving my two daughters joint powers of guardianship and attorney if I do go like my Dad. Genes?
Meanwhile I'm having an Early Old Age crisis and bought one last motorcycle. Good for riding into the sunset.

I just found this thread. I've been using Snug Safety - the free version - almost 2 weeks now. I chose a check in time of 9 AM. It's easy to check in (just click a green button on the App) and I can check in anytime I want that day prior to 9 AM. If I don't check in by 9 AM, they text my emergency contact. But that's as far as they go on the free version. On the paid version, they follow up persistently, and contact local authorities to request a wellness check, or at whatever location your phone is currently displaying. It brings me a lot of peace of mind. If a morning comes that I don't wake up, I do NOT want to be found 3 days later.

I plan to use more than one, on my iPhone is a feature called SOS emergency call, where you can call 911, you of course, would have to have your cellphone with you at all times. The other issue to consider, is entry into your home, which I’m researching now. There are so many of us in this category, it is certainly worth, checking everything!
Which is why I got an apple watch. It is on me when not charging. I can call 911 on it if I am lucid enough to do that. It has a fall feature and asks if you fell and are ok. If you do not turn it off when it alarms, it calls 911. i have taken falls that it never notices but, if I smack my German Shepherd, it alarms nicely…sort of useless If your watch hand does not take the brunt of the fall. Most people wear watches on their non-dominant hand so to protect it from daily abuse, which is most likely not the hand that hits the ground first.

I have used Snug and also worn an Apple Watch for several years. I highly recommend both of these because I know they do follow up in emergency situations as advertised. When I took a hard fall wearing the Apple Watch (with phone in pocket) Siri immediately came on and asked if I wanted to have the EMTs sent to me. When I failed to check in with Snug by my check-in time they promptly contacted me by text and I am confident that if I had not responded they would have contacted the two contacts I have listed and followed up as per what their service plan indicates.

The fact that these services are free with no monthly fee probably seems too good to be true to some people and therefore they are doubtful of the services legitimacy. Speaking from actual use of these services I can say that are both legitimate and a wonderful service.

I was glad to see your post. I only have Snug (free version) and my experience, like yours, has been nothing but positive. When I push the green button to check in, I always look forward to reading their quote for the day.
