Which is why I got an apple watch. It is on me when not charging. I can call 911 on it if I am lucid enough to do that. It has a fall feature and asks if you fell and are ok. If you do not turn it off when it alarms, it calls 911. i have taken falls that it never notices but, if I smack my German Shepherd, it alarms nicely…sort of useless If your watch hand does not take the brunt of the fall. Most people wear watches on their non-dominant hand so to protect it from daily abuse, which is most likely not the hand that hits the ground first.I plan to use more than one, on my iPhone is a feature called SOS emergency call, where you can call 911, you of course, would have to have your cellphone with you at all times. The other issue to consider, is entry into your home, which I’m researching now. There are so many of us in this category, it is certainly worth, checking everything!
I was glad to see your post. I only have Snug (free version) and my experience, like yours, has been nothing but positive. When I push the green button to check in, I always look forward to reading their quote for the day.I have used Snug and also worn an Apple Watch for several years. I highly recommend both of these because I know they do follow up in emergency situations as advertised. When I took a hard fall wearing the Apple Watch (with phone in pocket) Siri immediately came on and asked if I wanted to have the EMTs sent to me. When I failed to check in with Snug by my check-in time they promptly contacted me by text and I am confident that if I had not responded they would have contacted the two contacts I have listed and followed up as per what their service plan indicates.
The fact that these services are free with no monthly fee probably seems too good to be true to some people and therefore they are doubtful of the services legitimacy. Speaking from actual use of these services I can say that are both legitimate and a wonderful service.
