What A Coincidence

Went to a store yesterday in another city about 80 miles away from where I live.

Was looking at some pet stuff and another lady started to chat when she asked about a top I was wearing with a kitty on it.

She said she had a long drive home so she better get a wiggle on because they were calling for snow.

I too had a long drive I said, to Chatham, to which she replied that's where she lives. Like me she just moved there a few months ago.

It gets better.... whereabouts in Chatham, she lives in the same community I do.

What street she asks? And then the high five...she lives on the same street, just down a block.

We have plans for coffee.

Anyone else with a coincidence story?

VERY strange

nice to meet up that way ' but never tell her to much 'as really she is still a stranger ' see how it pans out ………….. (y)

Two residents who live in the same apt building as I do lived on the same street as I did
Liz who I have known for most of my adult life, lived 3 houses away from where my siblings&I grew up
My next door neighbor,Pat lived farther down the street. When she moved in and told me,I thought to myself'What are the odds this happening, its a small world'

Standing in line to see Michelangelo's David, halfway around the world from Austin, Texas. Strike up a conversation with this fellow standing next to me: He works at a sandwich shop that I eat at, less than a mile from my house!

Watching crocodiles eat chicken parts in Northern Kenya. I turn to leave. This woman asks me if I'm the guy she overheard mentioning Chicago. I tell her I am. She introduces me to a gal in her safari group who, it turns out, went to school with my mom's second husband's sons. We talk for a few seconds, and she invites me back to her room: running water and a hot shower! You bet! I'd been tent camping, in the wilds of Africa, for two weeks! We spend the night together. Excellent. When I get back to my camp, the French guys there, tell me I win the award for fastest pickup they've ever seen. Coming from them, I figure I should be proud!

Standing at rail of small day excursion boat out of Whittier, Alaska watching a huge glacier calve, another passenger standing beside me murmured to no one in particular, "Wow. There's sure nothing like this in (....) Virginia" naming the small town in central VA where I was born and lived first 22 yrs of my life. I turned thinking it was someone who knew me and knew my hometown.

Nope. He taught at local college and had only lived in VA a few years but was in Alaska temporarily on government grant studying the effects of the recent (1989) Exxon oil spill on Prince William Sound. He and wife had taken the day cruise as a Sunday outing.

They were so new to Alaska that she was dressed for a Bahamian style cruise with high heel strappy sandals and summer dress. In 1992 Alaskan cruise wear, especially to see the glaciers, is boots. jeans and heavy jacket. Today's glaciers are smaller and much less impressive due to severe melting.

Another small world incident .... standing in line for the loo at Dover UK ferry station waiting for boat to Calais France when I heard the impossible-to-miss shrill voice of my best friend's daughter-in-law coming from a stall. Yep. There she was. Nether of us knew the other was even in England at the time.
