What a powerful photo this is....

Yep, have been there but I think if Pickles dies before I do, it will be my toughest pet death to deal with.

Hes been by my side for 11 years....

Hes been very healthy so far and I’m hoping he stays that way for quite awhile.

I think an equally "powerful photo" would have the dog looking in the water, and seeing himself, with his owner by his side, petting him. Then again, why look at sad things?

Oh yes, I've been there also. That is why we haven't gotten another pet. I couldn't handle it. It will be bad enough when my bird passes on. He is on my shoulder almost all day long.

It is a powerful photo Pappy, like others here, I can relate to it very well, my heart has been saddened many times over the years when I lost my much loved pets. I often think of them or speak of them, and no matter how many years have passed, I still get teary.

Yall are making me cry 'again'. We lost our Alice a couple months ago. Had her for almost 16 years. And that was a long life for a large dog breed.
Not being unkind to all our other wonderful dogs but this dog was exceptionally great, right up to the dying part. She died the brave highly intelegent animal she was during life.

I just noticed the dog in the post looks like our Alice. She was part golden lab and Greyhound.

The biggest killer of dogs is their diets, we never let our dogs get fat, ever.
