Yes, I think I can guess the missing post that prompted Pepper's "Oh geez."

It was probably one of the ones about how mean and hateful we all are. I guess it's awful of us to comment on celebrities who have revealed all their personal stuff for attention and money and who will never, ever read this board -- but it's okay to call us names.
 
Everyone is entitled to an opinion, but it isn't anyone's right to question that right or attempt to deny one that right.

If someone fact-checks a statement and posts a correction, fine. Let it go at that.

Unfortunately, there are those who feel they must take it further in order to demonstrate a sense of superiority over others.

No one called you any names. You did that when you applied a general statement to yourself. If the shoe fits, wear it

That would make those people arguing all day on the political boards, "great," and the people on the home shopping boards talking about denim skirts, "average," and those of us talking about what famous person died recently, "small." I'm not buying it. One thing I like about the Senior Forum is we do a little of all three.

Mentioning people who have passed, and showing respect for them is definitely not the same ... you should know that.

But SPEWING 18 pages of HATE for someone you don't know is way over the top.

Mentioning people who have died is discussing people. The quote doesn't specify gossip, you just made that inference to suit yourself.

I thought I might have forgotten something so I went back and counted. In the 18 pages I have 6 posts. You have about four times that many. None of my posts were hateful, most were either questions or expressions of amusement. I don't hate these people at all.

What I do hate is being screamed at in all caps, large font and bold. Something I didn't know was allowed on this forum.

..and what seems to have been missed ..is that these people are Public figures, they put themselves up to be discussed, and by their actions despised by many...
