What amount is for you an ideal lottery win?

I don't want millions, in fact such a huge win would ruin my life.

For me perhaps £50,000 or up to £100,000 would be brilliant. I would update our house with new curtains and carpets, a new boiler, get the garden professionally made over and save the rest to earn interest.
I wouldn't move but I would like security and peace of mind. I wouldn't tell anyone how much we had, that's not wise. That way we keep options open and could help anyone out if we felt it was merited.

So how much do you need to be happy and secure and what would you buy or do?

1988, we had a lottery ticket where we had FOUR WINNING NUMBERS. We had to drive to headquarters to pick up our winnings.

It came to £850. No pow wow, no fanfare from the Lottery Agency other than a verbal "Congratulations!"

We were in the heart of shopping downtown, so we treated ourselves to a shopping spree, a lovely meal at a fancy restaurant and a night at the hotel before driving back home the next day!

Some people were there for Five winning numbers received £250,000 and the full Six numbers with bonus ball gave the winners £2 Million+.

I'm currently looking to reach £1,000 which would help greatly from my coffee funds...

Money is surely something that, if you find yourself with too much, there will be no end of obliging people and causes you can give your spare change to so, on that basis, I would be happy to accept any amount of ridiculous wealth :)

Have never ever bought a lottery ticket because I strongly dislike the focus on the large prize amounts only a few win. Truly stupid is how when prizes grow to large amounts, it draws many more into betting as though that increases their infinitesimal winning chances. Far better would be to replace those billion dollar prizes with many smaller prizes split between many times more smaller sized winners.

I don't gamble and I never buy lottery tickets. Reason is that I believe money does not bring happiness. What money does is buys you a lot of toys and gives you a lot of options. The rich also have their problems; everything from relatives after you for the money to con artists and accounts cheating you. Ever hear of a ransom for money?

True happiness comes from being true to yourself and leading the life you want. It comes from a loving family and true friends. In retirement I'd rather have my healthy then be dying with $10 million in the banks. Remember, you can't take it with you when you go!

1 in 300,000,000 odds. the Jackpot has gradually grown over the years to over a $Billion consistently. Don't waste my time.
Originally the winning Jackpots were less than $20,000,000 Its a numbers racket.

I like that. A moderate amount can be so enjoyable to spend on treats. To enjoy without pressure, rather than an overwhelming amount. I really would find a large win very stressful.

Whatever the win, I would never tell anyone. Few people genuinely wish anyone well.

By the way my husband spends a modest occasional amount on the lottery. Sometimes a scratchcard. So my topic is only hypothetical really.
we do have some premium bonds and I've had some small wins which are nice. But you never know.
