What annoys you?

I'm with Saltydog... inconsiderate people allowing their dogs to bark steadily for hours on end! We reported a neighbour for such two summers ago, and well deserved.

Another that infuriates me... leaving a baby to cry itself out! I remember when the "let them cry it out" thing was introduced as the new big thing to do. Never did that with my own children, and as a babysitter I never did either. Used to soothe and comfort a crying baby until they settled down, holding them, laying them over my lap and rubbing and patting their backs or patting their little bottoms, or gently jostling them while holding them over my shoulder.

Another for me... BO on a person. Soap and water is cheap, learn how to use it!

4-way stops!!! AMAZING how many drivers don't know how to count!

A whining child.

Some of my kids toys when they were little. One such toy I remember was the peg & hammer set. The banging would go on for hours, day after day, and it had a way of echoing through the entire house.

Another I remember from my baby siblings, the Fisher Price corn-popper! OMG!

Up the hallway, down the hallway, again and again, back and forth, forth and back. When one baby siblings would drop the handle, another baby sibling would pick it up.

I try not to spend much time being annoyed, however, recent threads on the killings in Minneapolis and on the COVID vaccines do bring something to mind - forum "experts" expounding to no end. We don't know what we don't know, but that doesn't seem to matter in the least once these threads get rolling.

Quiet annoys me. That's when my tinnitus is really bad. I LOVE noise.
Reckless drivers
Litterbugs
Long checkout lines at the store or bank with several empty teller windows.
Greed

In days gone by when we had double decker buses AND a conductor, and he saw you running like mad for the bus and he would ring the bell just before you got to the bus as it sped away, then laughed at you showing your fist. :)

What annoys me are people who insist on believing all the crap the media spreads and they try to force me to "comply" because of THEIR FEARS.

you know, by passing dumb laws. certain laws I will not break as I do not wish to end up in jail. Or perhaps I should have said "try to force me to comply" like with the mask "mandates."
I am so tired of wearing a mask but I don't hardly go anywhere so it's just a few minutes I have to wear one when I go into a business of some kind. When I walk the dog I pull my mask down. We have to wear one in our apt. building, too, so as soon as I get out of the lobby I pull it down.

It is weird to sometimes contemplate that, ever since Vietnam, I have never known silence.

I feel similarly. I wear the mask when I go out, but go out minimally to avoid having to wear it.

When my wife and I were at the Mayo Clinic last week, I bought a mask at their store that has a carbon filter and is washable/reusable. It is the easiest breathing mask I have so far encountered. Now, I am much less resistant to wearing a mask, though it will be a fine day when we no longer need to do that.

We have to go back in another two weeks and I will get another so one is in the wash and the other is being worn. We are fortunate to live about 90 minutes from some of the finest medical care in the world. By the way, they are VERY strict about following the guidelines for COVID around there.

This mask sounds interesting. I have all kinds of masks but usually wear N-95 or KN-95 but they are uncomfortable. How effective is this mask or did it say? Can people buy them on-line from them?

I've been woken so many times in the middle of the night by idiots and their deeply held fears of mufflers, and the their moral convictions that everyone within a 1/2 mile ( literally) radius of their vehicle be subjected to the full unfettered volume of their sound system, 1:00-4:00 AM usually. I can't go back to sleep at all.
Buy yourself a Polka CD (or something as annoying) and blast it even louder out your window as they pass. Since you're up anyway.

Here is a link to the company with all the information:

Edit: This is the exact product I bought: https://www.vogmask.com/products/noir-vmc-no-valve

The Mayo Clinic store has them in various sizes and these are associated with your height approximation.

In early publication the WHO stated that “facemasks are not required, as no evidence is available on its usefulness to protect non-sick persons” [14]. In the same publication, the WHO declared that “cloth (e.g. cotton or gauze) masks are not recommended under any circumstance” [14].

You need to look at what is in the mask. It isn't just cloth.

As to arguing the usefulness of wearing a mask, the Mayo Clinic requires it so we wear them when there. Our area requires them in public, so we wear them.

I got "the shot" (Johnson and Johnson) and my wife got the Pfizer series. We wear the masks as per the above sentences. Neither of us tells others what to do or not do. That is our take on it.

I put carbon filters into my Levi masks and they are pretty okay, too. Some are strict around here about the covid rules and some aren't so much.

Interestingly, about 2 months ago the grocery store where I usually shop changed the wording on their sign out front - it used to say "Masks required" but they changed the word mask to "face-covering". A lot of shoppers just wear a bandana. I saw one guy wearing a sleeve cut off a t-shirt. Covid cases have come down from over 1,000 in Jan 2021 to well under 200 this month. We had a really good roll-out of the vaccine.

I agree. Some are more strict than others. We simply follow the rules. My wife makes her own masks and buys a filter that she sews in. She told me that her masks are not the easiest to breathe through, but she declined getting a mask at the Mayo store. I want what is easiest to breathe through while providing the protection that masks are supposed to afford. The mask I mentioned seems to be that.
