My kids had a urologist named Dr. Peters.

Other than that, some kids in high school had last names that I would have changed in a heart beat ASAP.

I used to work in the OR with an anesthesiologist named, Dr. Lawless. My cleaning lady's name is Lavinia and one of our staff doctors here is, Dr. Pepper. I remember a doctor on staff of a hospital in NY whose last name was Doctor. I guess some of these names do pop up all over the place now and then.

My parents knew a dentist whose name was Dr. Toothachey.

Kids in my school always laughed when two teachers were assigned together to be chaperones: Mr. Head and Mr. Foote.

I went to school with a young man whose name was Austin Schick .. I always thought it was a cool name .. and his best buddy's name was Johnny Federson, also a cool name.

Years ago I worked with his brother Rang. We were both young Forest Service workers in Wyoming.

He, and I assume his brother, was a Native America and very humorous about it. I still remember him looking closely at tracks, listening to the ground, and saying "White man pass here, 2 maybe 12". I still use that line from time to time. Nice guy.

I recently moved and recently I met a new neighbor. I really thought he was joking when he said his name was Bill Payer.

There’s a used car salesman in my area whose name is Tom Mouse. He has a sister, Minnie.

Then there’s a well-known realtor whose name is Sam Small. You might say that’s his name is Small, but he’s a big name in real estate.

There’s also an oncologist whose name is Dr. Cashdollar…

Okay, you're not going to believe this, but I swear on my mother (sorry mom ), it's true. One afternoon, a woman came into the gallery. This was back when we still had to check ID's for credit card payments. She showed me her driver's license. I looked at it. It said Elizabeth Hogg-Heaven. I said to her, "How could you?" She said, "How could I not?"

In high school, I had a friend with the nickname "Cookie" and the surname Baker.
