Each stage in life has its advantages and disadvantages As we grow older from the second we are born, we just continue the process until we die

I don't know if I can classify as best or worse, but I can with fear, the fear of developing Alzheimer's.

I would say the best part of becoming older is the accompanying wisdom and settled confidence within for me. The hardest part is the physical decline.

Youth had it's obvious advantages but also there were pressures and insecurities that left with age. Older years has it's advantage of having reached a place of peace with myself and a more mature view of life. But the downer is the fact that health and vigor is simply not what it once was though I am thankful that I am in as good shape as I am all things considered!

You see no difference in being in your 20s and in your 60s or older?

I don't think any differently, and each stage of my life has had its ups and downs, and no doubt that will continue until I kick the bucket.

I second Gail on her observation. I appreciate the experience and wisdom that comes with age but at the same time, I want to look the age I feel (and I still feel 20!!) and I find it hard to overcome the reality of physical decline.

My mother used to say, "you can't put an old head on young shoulders."
So that's true. You accumulate and earn the wisdom that comes with age, but your body is another issue and you really need to take care of yourself in your youth or pay the price later. Even then somethings can occur that have nothing to do with that.

I was in unusually good shape at 58 then got hit head on in a car accident. It took away that from me but I thank God I recovered and wasn't left with a missing limb or paralyzed. I get about and no one can tell looking at me, but I feel the difference. But hey, I'm here and able to go where I want. No complaints.

Loss of physical strength. Can no longer chase waves all day and night . . . among other things... But, I still retain my boyish charm...

I'm getting closer to it being over with is a plus, LOL, I know, there is always a bit of truth behind a joke.

Ok, seriously then, the main plus for me is being more comfy with who I am. The biggest negative I suppose is the body with it's aches and pains, oh yeah, gravity rearing it's ugly head. And I thought you couldn't "see" gravity:awman:

That's very similar to my take on it all, Denise.
