Sometimes it’s the local pronunciation that makes it funny… close to where I live there’s “MY-lan” (spelled Milan, like the city in Italy) and “Bee-you-na Vista” (spelled Buena Vista)

And in Weed, California there's a Weed Bakery. Their advertisement used to say, "It's a location, not an ingredient." Since it doesn't say that any more, it may have become an ingredient as well as a location.

We have that as well. Gluckstadt here is GLUCK-stat. Belfountain is BELL-fountain ...fountain pronounced like a water fountain of course in the South we say fown un.
