What are you cooking or baking today?

my son recently visited and left 6 plastic containers of his version of a real indian curry - not sure if he meant red indians or real indians - the curry is almost very hot verging on too hot - but it's good free tucker so who's complaining!

I have a recipe for a chicken curry soup that I'll make in a big batch & freeze for later. We recently found an Indian restaurant & have been trying different things on their menu. My hubby likes hot food, but he has even stopped at #2 on their heat level. Completely different from Mexican & the hot sauces he likes. I'll stick to mild.

I don't like an insipid curry but not very hot either - a ceylonese friend once cooked his favorite curry and it nearly took my scalp off - my son is married into thai culture and they can do very hot dishes not necessarily curries

The mild curry that I've had has a nice heat to me & has flavor. Maybe I'll try something more later, but for now I'm content.

Curry is very different than hot pepper sauces that have burning heat, no flavor & leave your taste buds numb. There are only a few that are decent & I will use in cooking.

my son left all the vaious herbs and peppers he had used in the curry pf coourse? maybe that is wot you are supposed to do - but I found it a bit distasteful beginning to chew peppers and then spit them out - spoilt the ambience of the meal!!

Finished cooling, de-boning chicken and straining the broth. Refrigerated the broth to remove the fat from later. Will then freeze in small portions.
I also used a large package of cleaned chicken feet, but threw those away after.

This is all for my doggie to get more collagen. Two weeks ago I made a large batch of bone broth with beef and pork neck bones. She loved it!

I cheated today. We stopped at our favorite local bar & had their hand-tenderized breaded pork tenderloin sandwiches. It was so tender & juicy. It's known now for their food & almost everything they make is from scratch. Back in the 80's when they opened, they had over 80 import beers & few sandwiches w/chips, added hot lunch specials later & it just grew from there. Open for breakfast at 8 AM until 2:30 AM when all bars must close. Funny in the morning with people who worked nights are getting breakfast & having a beer with it, LOL.

Sounds like a great place. I wish I was there too, for that pork sandwich.

Since my ice cream cookery, I fried up a portabello mushroom in butter and boiled some big cheese-stuffed raviolis for dinner. Mmmmm.

With the Spousal Equivalent gone away on a motorcycle trip, I can cook all sorts of stuff that I like and he doesn't. I can even have crackers and cheese for dinner if I want. Dinner can consist of a bowl of Cheerios. Dinner can be peanut butter eaten directly from the jar. The options are unlimited!

When he's home, dinner has to be meat. Potatoes or rice. Green veggies. Bread. Spaghetti is OK but there has to be meat sauce. He's a carnivore. I'm a semi-carnivore. Most men are from the planet Flesh. Women often are from the planet Baby Greens with a Nice Vinaigrette.

I cook chicken for my dog, too. But the plants get the cooled broth because it gives my pup runny stools for unfathomable reasons.
Even using boneless, skinless chicken thighs cooked in plain water, no spices, no extra fat. No idea why it affects him that way.

Sour cream "biscuit cookies" that are fabulous and fantastically unusual. So many wanted the recipe from me after tasting them.

From a famous recipe where a milkman had to start selling sour cream and always had some left.
His wife came up with this recipe for and now there was never any sour cream left at the end of his milk route day!

If you can make gluten free biscuits you can make this recipe. Do you have normal GF flour?
If so, I'll PM you the recipe.
That would be nice. The health food store sells it in bulk. I’m planning on making a trip there to pick up a few other things so can buy that too. I’m really trying to limit the quantity of baking items. Thanks.
