What are you fixin' for Christmas ?

I kind of precooked before today. I just go to the fridge and pull out whatever I may like. There is lasagna, a baked ham, veggies, biscuits all ready to warm, sausage balls, layered mushrooms and egg casserole. I can feast all week and not have to cook another thing!! Now, it is just me in PJ's, the dogs enjoying there new throws, quite lovely....

What am I fixin' for Christmas?
When I find something broken, I'll fix it.. 🤣

Not fixing anything today. My company was here last night, so I have leftovers. Teriyaki wings, salad, baked mac and cheese, tzatziki and chips, a few olives and feta cheese. I got stuck with half an apple pie.

Got the house cleaned up again; that's it. I'm just going to lay around with doggie on this cold, sunny and peaceful Christmas Day. It's good.

Merry Christmas to all! 🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄

I bought a little tenderloin beef filet USDA choice, which I will braise in garlic, butter and serve with an au jus sauce,
served with a twice baked potato prepared with butter, sour cream, chives, bacon and cheese.
Then I will have hot, crispy sourdough bread and maybe green beans sauted in garlic butter. It's just me but,
with the prices now I don't get to eat much beef anymore. (kind of a splurge!)

Turkey and all the standard accompaniments. It’s totally prepared; the back has been removed and it’s stuffed. It’s a holiday splurge that is worth it to have leftovers. I’ll also make some extra dressing because I really like my own.

I'm with my Daughter down on the Oregon coast. Her husband has prime rib going on the smoker. I think I will have a hunk of that later today.

My Daughter gave me four cans of Cullen Skink for Christmas. it's the real stuff, imported from Scotland. I'm sorely tempted to open a can and enjoy it but (discipline 007) it will be saved for a later time.

It's an "all-in-one" casserole. There's a layer of stuffing on the bottom, then a layer of cooked slice chicken, then a layer of mashed potatoes and topped with gravy. Then for dessert, mocha cake with a scoop of peanut butter ripple ice cream.

Deb... Please....STOP!!! the plate with the desert has to go in the bin RIGHT Now.. unless you want a serious dose of food poisoning from the bacteria and scratches on that plate.. Doesn't matter that you've washed it.. that plate will be harbouring millions..nay probably billions of bacteria.. throw it away.. before you get ill...

We dined out, we always do, but this year we were joined by two lovely ladies. Both have had a difficult year. One has to put her husband in a home, he has severe dementia, the other became a widow about three months ago. Neither felt like going out at Christmas but both agreed to and it was good to see them actually smiling and just enjoying mutual company.
