What are you listening to in 2024 ?

I love this video and its entire vibe. It somehow seems so genuine while fantasy at the same time.

Clever acting and performances, character chemistry, and the music clings to the video story like a glove. I like it better than "Kokomo" for a Caribbean vibe during cold winter months. But it also fits a sultry Summer late afternoon just as Happy Hour begins at some beers and Margaritas dive beach bar in Cuba or the Florida Keys.

Wait. Was that guy at 0:38 naked?

Status Quo - Great group. Been around since the 60's (started with different names). Still going on tour.

Down Down - Status Quo (1974)

Jam Side Down - Status Quo (2002) Such fun.

I was thinking this band is a one-hit wonder here in the US. Wikipedia confirms this...
"Pictures of Matchstick Men" reached #7 in the UK, and remains the band's only major hit single in the US, where it reached #12.

Being a one-hit wonder doesn't make a group "bad". Doesn't mean you can't enjoy their music.

They were very successful in England.

I don't care for them. As a kid I liked Matchstick Men but now it sounds so dated like all the psychedelic stuff at that time.

Quo were absolutely massive worldwide -- undeniable fact. Matchstick Men was from their very early years and I believe the band members themselves would have preferred to forget it as it was never their true style.

Many legendary bands of the 1970s (eg Yes and Genesis) were album oriented. Singles are, tbh, a poor way to judge these kinds of groups
