What are your favorite song intros?

Canned Heat was not a band I really cared for at that time is probably why I didn't know. Guess I was in a much calmer state of mind when they came out

To explore further, Canned Heat took the boogie intro from Johnny Lee Hooker. From his album Whiskey and Wimmen , to Canned Heats, Fried Boogie, to Spirit in the Sky . I think we can all agree on this intro being versatile.

That's funny in a way. I used to listen to Hooker at times but he had this believable tone to his voice that he felt his songs.
Maybe that was more what drew me to some singers over others back then, Maybe that tribal felt respect my Granny
taught us when young... to listen, always listen not just to words and sounds but the heart of them.

Did you know that the intro to Spirit in the Sky is much the same as Fried Hockey Boogie?

And that's pretty much the same as LaGrange by ZZ Top! I guess there are just so many guitar riffs one can come up with.

While the whole song is great, the beginning piano is something else.
The end isn't bad either.
