What big event do you think will happen soon that most people aren’t expecting?

Well, No one believes me, but this will happen!
These words are from the Heavens. They know things.

Communist China and Russia will merge together to defeat the U.S.A.
Even the mid-East will be involved.
China will emerge as the world leader.
This will be the Third World War.
It will be short but devastating.
The U.S. will be ill-prepared to fight, due to weakened
military support from the U.S. Government,
and bumbling decisions and strategy.

I'm not going to detail what will occur during and after the War.
People will think, "Ah, That's not going to happen."
"The Chinese people are our friends."
Maybe the Chinese people are our friends but
not the Communist Chinese Government.
But it WILL HAPPEN!

I myself would be worried instead of being happy about the aliens being real; going by the way things happened on this planet and with our luck, the aliens'd be colonizers.

Around 1981 I had a precog (nightmare) about the end of the world. Much different from what you described. While both would suck, I'd actually prefer 'my' version because it was faster.

China is already on the path to being the world's true power without ever firing a shot. It'll happen, but maybe not in my lifetime

Not necessarily. While such things might be devastating to the faith of those who subscribe to organised religions, particularly the Abrahamic faiths who've developed the notion that humans are somehow extra special beings, tjose with broader more inclusive perspectives as part of our beliefs wouldn't see the existence of such things as problematic, just further proof of the diversity of life forms in fhe physical realm.

What is more, there have been several things once thought mythical that turned out to be real, including giant squids and narwhals. How firm could one's belief in any god/higher power be if it would be shaken by learning that things humans thought mythical were real?

And, oh the irony, since many humans these days think the very notion of god(s)/higher powers is the biggest myth of all.

Back on topic... I think we're going to experience a widespread, long term power outage. Our grid is fragile and there are too many ways to cripple enough of it to cause a cascading outage throughout the whole grid (we have three--eastern, western and Texas has their own grid), Physical attacks at just the right segment, cyber hacking, EMP--would only take a small, satellite delivered nuclear detonation above the atmosphere ...then there's natural causes such as sun flares that caused the Carrington Event in 1859.
