I just got a new Kindle Paperwhite. The first book I'm reading is The Enchanted April, a 1922 novel by British-Australian writer Elizabeth von Arnim.
There is a movie version but it doesn't do the book justice. The author is an intelligent observer of her characters.
The book is known for delivering the restorative benefits of having taken a vacation yourself when you're done reading it.
There is a movie version but the strength of the book is in the writing of it. It reveals a lot of truths about people that make you stop and think.
I think its going to end up being one of the best books I've read in my lifetime.
Four women from London, who start out as strangers, share the rental of a castle on the coast of Italy during which they all go through a personal transformation.
