What can we do about Ageism?

ah yes,I knew that of course, what I meant to say was that our retirement age is now 66... and will soon be 67...

No I can't return to work at my old job, not now I've retired... positions have been filled by younger people now..
What about a different job?
.....

Hollydolly, I'm honestly feeling rather confused.
I'm reading you were forced to retire at 66 in your old job ('forced retirement' ended in 2011 at 65), you wanted to go back to that job but couldn't 'not now I've retired' and it's been filled by younger people now.
You say you want to return to work (in general) because you say 'and no I don't want to work in Asda'.

I wouldn't normally be asking these questions, it's just you seem so adamant when you said 'I want to work!!' and I'm wondering what's stopping you finding work, whether paid or unpaid?
It can't be because there's nothing in our age group, as there's plenty out there.

What can we do about ageism?- -Well, we can all dress eccentrically and descend around mid-afternoon for dinner at a restaurant for the Early Bird Special to discuss the issue, be demanding of our server, complain about the food, the temperature in the establishment, the music being played, and leave a sub-standard tip. Try to pay using expired coupons, question the total (“That can’t be right!”), then slowly pay out most of your bill using largely coins, dropping several as you do so.- -They will rue the day and remember us! 😸
