What Can You Talk About For Hours?

What can I say to clear up my thread?
I'm interested in people & various subjects.

At Walmart, yesterday ,I helped a man find the baking soda.
That led to us having a nice chat as we walked .

Another short chat was with a lady who thought she knew me.
Maybe she did but I still haven't put a name with her face,, she looked familiar.:D

The fact that people can talk for hours about anything is somewhat astonishing to me. I hear about people staying up all night talking. I've stayed up all night drinking and doing drugs, but to stay up all night talking is not something I have ever experienced. Well, maybe I've talked with some women for hours when we were out on a date, but in those cases, there was the excitement of dating and where it might lead, so there was the dopamine rush, plus it was about getting to know somebody new, so there was a lot to talk about.

It amazes me when lawyers can talk about a case for days in court that seems like it should only take like ten minutes, but they bring up every minutia bit of information that might help their case, or perhaps to bring in more money when billing by the hour. But I guess that's what it takes to win a case and persuade a jury.

It's taken me a long time to realize that people like to hear all the little details about some event or whatever the subject matter might be. Had I known that earlier in life, I might have gotten along better with people. :ROFLMAO:

sports and food

Back in 1998 I was introduced to an elderly gent who just moved into our apartment complex. He had been a pro baseball player for two years and was involved in local athletic circles for many decades. Having been involved in baseball and other sports we started a chat that lasted for two full hours on MLB. And that was only the beginning. For the next few years that we were amigos we had many long chats about sports. He passed on a few years back and I sure my old pal. Great guy.

I can talk about something for about ten minutes then I'm done. Either change the subject or say goodbye. Same with listening. Short attention span I guess. I used to watch my husband go on for a half-hour and wonder why didn't God install an off switch on people. After 30 minutes I am imagining clubs, and iron bars, and finally different size frying pans.
