What car would you like to own again??

There was a time when I couldn't afford a new or even a newer car. I had to get $300 "specials". They lasted for a while. One of the cars was a 1968 Chrysler Imperial. It had leather seats. All electric windows (only the driver's one worked), electric seats- the whole enchilada- some of which actually worked. It was a massive car. You could land planes on the hood. I loved that car. I felt that if I were a billionaire, I would get that car and restore it. So out of all the cars and trucks, which came your way, was there a car you would love to own again?
 

My 2009 Honda Accord is the best car I have ever had. So I'll stick with it. If it ever totally wears out, I think I would buy a new Accord.
 
I keep looking ahead. I like to buy a new vehicle every three years. With the safety features getting better and better, there's no way I'd go back to any older cars I owned. Looking forward to a loaded 2020 Ram 2500 with maximum towing.
 
A 1953 bright red MG TF convertible! Driving down the Merritt Parkway top down, in CT on gorgeous fall day, in my red leather jacket & having Sterling Moss wave to me going the other direction in his blue Morgan!
 
My '63 Corvette split window coupe. Bought it from a friend who was heading for Vietnam in 1965. I drove it 'til 1977 and sold it for twice what I paid. We took the motor out and rebuilt it in my buddy's shop around 1973. It had the 327 - 300 horse with the 4 barrel Rochester carb and 4 speed manual tranny. The top of the line engine, for Corvettes, that year was the fuel injected 327 c.i. -365 hp. A fun car to drive and sometimes my wife pushed it harder than I did.:nightmare:

First car I ever owned was a '41 Mercury coupe. Bought it in 1951, the year I graduated from high school. Had it a couple of years later when I met my wife.
 
Ahh, The Morgan! WOWSER! Take it around a curve while the rest of them are crashing through the
guard rails. Hard sprung but worth e very penny of it. You can have your dainty little MGs.
 
My two favorite cars were my very first one - a 1967 Triumph Spitfire, and the van I drove when my kids were little - a Toyota Previa, 1994, I think. Either would be terrific.

So coincidental that this thread would come up today because I've spent a large portion of my day on line searching for a new car, hopefully a hybrid. Maybe new, maybe new to me. Yeesh! Prices are shockingly high!
 
My first car was a 1952 Mercury used for about $300 as I recall. Had a 3 speed on the column and was a flathead V8. Broke a rear axle trying to lay a patch. Fanciest car I ever had was a black Buick convertible with red leather seats. Can't remember the year. Was being sold "as is". I found out why later when the engine needed a new head gasket.

48 Plymouth convertible would be the most practical in our situation today. Presently we have a 2012 Chrysler convertible, but that old Plymouth had more room in the back seat and far more trunk space. Out of the 41 cars we have owned over the years, 3 were new. For 20 years I did not own a car, I drove company cars. That Plymouth would need AC, AT, and cruise for me today. Electric windows & door locks are nice.
 
A little off topic, but those old cars had bench seats, just what you needed when you took your honey to the drive in. How do kids manage these days with bench seats and consoles between them?

My hubby bought a 100.00 Toyota Tercel wagon,not sure on the year but this thing could've won an ugly car contest,hands down...it was the color of an old Penny and the rust was holding her together.
We lived out in the boonies,on top of a hill in upstate N.Y,snow was popular...that little shit took those mountain roads like it was standing still!
Very attached to my 2012 Nissan Sentra,that Ive owned 3 years and put ,50k on ..so far she's costed me 150.00 and that's because I misjudged a curb and broke an exhaust flange!

Darned if I didn’t have a Tercel, 4 wheel drive, which was the color of puke green. I drove that car for 13 years to work, 30 miles round trip. The fenders with literally rusted off. In 13 years of driving through all kinds of weather, upstate NY, it never let me down...not once. I sold it for $100 and saw it a couple years later still being drove. Maybe you bought it??? :sentimental:
 
62 Pontiac 2dr. metallic silver/blue with all leather interior and "Vibrasonic" sound adapter. Blew the tranny and no money to fix it.
