What color are your eyes? Do you wear contacts or eyeglasses etc?

I've not had cataracts, which is surprising with all the welding I've done over the past 1/2 century. DW has had one cataract surgery, will have the other eye done at some point.

Nathan, having been a welder etc, you are fortunate not to have cataracts.
My friend's husband a welder for many years, now has severe eye issues and
very problematic cataracts, he still refuses and eye procedures.

thanks, Llynn, it's when I start overthinking, I get myself apprehensive and nervous.
My other consult will be upcoming, and they asked if I wanted both eyes done at the
same time. My reply, NO. So, it will be right eye first then six months later the
left eye.

I do consider myself to be undeservedly fortunate, I always thought for sure would have had cataracts at least by age 50. I made it to 73, but I guess(hope) there's still time.

Nathan lol yep there is still time ;) When my cataracts surfaced was exactly three years ago.
Tiny one in the left eye, then larger one in the right eye. Also, more black floaters came to
life and driving in the dark were becoming more a challenge and much more so the past
year. I'm almost 73 next summer lol, so my eyes will go through more things I imagine ;)
 
Green eyes. I didnt wear glasses when I was young. In my twenties I got my first glasses for distance.
When I got older I still wore glasses for distance but I had to take them off to read.
As I got older my eyes got better and I stopped wearing glasses.
But now I have to wear readers for reading and the computer.
I buy the cheap ones cause Im always losing them.
I have them stashed everywhere.

No eye surgeries yet. Doc did say I have mild cataracts. It only bothers me at night.
So I will be waiting. Besides my insurance wont pay until you reach a certain level.

Back in the day when we partied on a Friday night my eyes were a different color on Saturday morning. Not so much as anyone else would notice but I could see it in the mirror.
 
I was the surgical nurse for ophthalmology for years. Cataract surgery is a piece of cake, folks. Really! It's quick (10-15 minutes), painless, and makes a world of difference. No general anesthesia, just a local, maybe light sedation, depending on the doctor and the facility.

My eyes are dark brown, almost black. No eye surgery but have had several minor lid surgeries plus the upper lids lifted. I wear readers. Used to use bifocals but distance vision has improved. I put those readers on my head when not in use. Not long ago, while on the phone with a friend, I couldn't find them. She asked me, "Are they on your head?" Ummm...yep. Thanks!

Edited to add: In my immediate family, all of the boys (4) had blue eyes; the girls (3) all brown. For the longest time, as a child I thought that's how you knew the difference between boys and girls.
 
Edited to add: Mt dadā€™s eyes were hazel and my Mumā€™s were the coolest grayish tone Iā€™ve ever seen! Of my 5 kids, three ended up with hazel eyes, and my youngest boy and the one girl both have beautiful green eyes.

My eyes are hazel. In my 40ā€™s I started using dime store readers for reading and computer work. In my 50ā€™s I started wearing contacts because I got tired of the reading glasses.

In 2014 I had surgery to remove a cancerous growth from my lower lid. It was more extensive than my doc anticipated, and he had to remove most of my lower lid to ensure I was cancer free. Without that lower lid contacts wouldnā€™t stay in so I began wearing prescription glasses fulltime.

Back in April I had both cataract and glaucoma surgery. I still need glasses for close up work, but the middle and distance vision improved to the point that I donā€™t need corrective lenses for that. So Iā€™m back to readers! šŸ¤¦ā€ā™€ļø

Because I constantly lose glasses I decided to get another prescription for progressive lens glasses. The glass in the upper portion is clear because I just donā€™t need any correction for middle and distance.

My eyes are Hazel, so are my daughter's.
We got them from my mother. I used to wear contacts, but my right eye started feeling discomfort. I just wear glasses for seeing far now. No more bifocals! I have cataracts forming, not bad yet but noticeable. My grandmother had cataract surgery, they offered her a video tape of the procedure. Not my kind of movie...
