What concerns you the most?

My retirement was a bit different because my company eliminated my position, along with 50% of corporate employees, due to Covid. I was 62 at the time but I had already started searching for a work/life balance and walking around the lake near our house for an hour a day. It gave me time to reflect on what was important. I had also socked away as much as I could into my 401k.

When my boss called to share the news he was almost in tears. I told him not to worry, that I was emotionally and financially ready to retire. I haven't looked back. I had a feeling I would be happier in retirement because I was already focusing more on the personal side of my life.

Re: formal exercise, I started working from home in 2006, and I made a point of joining a gym and going for at least 30 minutes per day. I've now gone to a gym for 17 years. Now I spend an hour and a half 5 days a week using weight machines, stretching and using the treadmill or elliptical machines. I look forward to it because it gets me out of the house and around other people.
I could have "majored" in retirement. Should have made a career out of it...lol.
