What Did You Discover About Yourself After You Became A Senior Citizen?

What did you discover about yourself after you became a senior citizen?

I discovered that I actually knew a bit about a lot of things through my adult years, and I used that knowledge to benefit my life as I aged. No regrets, well, just a few.....

I was always told I had no talent, "Don't even try", anything!
Just exist.
When I became a senior, I threw off that negativity.

I'm learning things, creating and designing things, evolving
and growing towards enlightenment. I'm not letting others
limit my possibilities. "You can't stop me!"
Like @Pepper, I don't care anymore what other people think.

@Gaer, whoever told you you have no talent is either blind or the worlds biggest dimwit

I discovered (or admitted) that I am an introvert and don't need to be with people but can not live without a dog

I love this but it is a tough thing for me. We lost our last German Shepherd a couple of years ago and that one was extremely painful for me. I almost desperately want another one but I am so afraid that 1. I will die before the dog does (you have to be a dog person to fully understand), or 2. that the dog will die first and after 7 dogs, I don't really want to experience that pain again (plus I've been married 44 years and one of us will have to pay our life bill pretty soon too).

There is so much to love, but the inevitable loss is one of those things you learn from age... not an easy lesson, but everyone learns it eventually.
