What do you all feed your fur babies?

We don't have as far to go, as we've already been
We changed our babies diet quite a while back.
As I watched the cans of mushy floor sweepings... (aka dog food) climb in price, I soon realized it was cheaper, (and healthier) to feed them real food. So now, our fur babies have a rotational diet of beef, (browned in real butter), chicken, pork, or pasta.( Ronzoni is our choice as it's still made with semolina wheat, not refined white flour).
If we feel the need for a little filler, we'll add in rice or oatmeal.

Sometimes I get lucky and there are some leftovers for me. :)

I used to feed Farmer's Dog exclusively. Human grade with different protein sources to choose from.
But Mason grew tired of it and sometimes refused the good stuff. I still have some frozen and rotate it in, now and then.

Currently he seems to enjoy Purina One True Instinct canned, also with various protein options.
I feed one can a day, broken up into 2-3 meals. I buy a 12 can package from Tractor Supply.
Sometimes he wants a little more and I offer some Orijen Original Chicken & Turkey and wild caught Fish kibble I keep on hand.

Mason loves sliced bread and each meal I break up a half slice of Nature's Own Honey Wheat on his meal, to entice him a bit.

Since he eats soft food, I offer Pedigree DentaStix (one a day) I get from Tractor Supply. I break the stick in half, so he gets it twice.
His teeth, although worn at age 14, stay clean and white ... breath fresh.

Treats:
Bill Jac Original Recipe Dog treats made with Fresh Chicken Liver I get from Petsense, a local Tractor Supply pet store.
Charlee Bear Grain Free Crunch Bacon & Blueberry Flavor I pick up off Amazon.

Rarely he will get a taste of something I'm eating but I have to make sure it's not too seasoned or have much salt.
So rare does he get something I'm eating, he doesn't beg or anticipate.
When I'm eating, Mason is off taking a nap.

My dogs have had a lot of gut/digestive issues After trying everything including the very expensive prescription only food, they do the best on Iams Advanced Health Healthy digestion.

Along with that I give them raw vegetables and fruits as treats. They’ve yet to meet a fruit or veggie they don’t like!! They get what we eat, and we vary our fruits and vegetables a lot so there’s a wide range for them to eat.

I use Purina One Plus, different flavors, as a "base" ingredient just in case the other foods are missing some key nutrient. On top of that, I add either beef, chicken, or salmon (every vet I have been to warns against pork), and sometimes peas and carrots. Lately, though, they have been picking out the carrots. Sometimes, I will add Fresh Pet. I change the additional ingredient every couple of days. Otherwise, I get that look: "We had this yesterday! Not again today!"

They don't beg at the table. They do, however, stand and watch with anticipation whenever I am cooking.

My house bunny gets Timothy hay (80% of his food). Also organic spring mix (I have to pick out all the spinach and beet greens, he won't eat those and spinach is not good for him), arugula, parsley, cilantro, bananas and sometimes apples or berries. He also eats chew sticks and compressed little cubes of Timothy hay. And 2 joint support bunny cookies with various ingredients in them (which he loves).

Pedigree or Purina canned mixed with Soft kibble bits for small dogs. As she got older I stopped the kibble. Like SD, I realized the cost of dog food was pretty near the price of people food, So I began to give low fat cooked hamburger, minced cooked chicken, cooked salmon or cod, carrot and liver.

She liked a few blueberries and some watermelon. Also a little peanut butter

I feed my cats mostly wet food -- usually Sheba, including at times varieties that contain peas, carrot, pumpkin, and parsnips. There is always a bowl of Purina One available.

I also give them the supermarket’s own brand tinned fish, such as tuna and/or pilchards. It’s actually less expensive than branded cat food.

Yeah, I buy these 4-packs of cheap canned tuna from Walmart, and it costs about the same as canned cat food. I mix about a tablespoon of tuna with half a can of catfood, stir in about 1/4 cup of cat kibble, and divide that in half for Charlie and Penny. They get that twice a day.

My older cat, Pixel, has a seizure disorder and has to have his food pureed, so no kibble for him. I just puree 1 can of pate cat food with about 1/4 cup of chicken broth, and he gets that twice a day.

I found that I could buy angus beef as a roast for less that burger meat. After partially cooking it, we cut it into small pieces and then, use a food processor to grind it almost as fine as burger. Brown it in butter, and away we go.

I don't know if this applies to dogs, but I saw a Jackson Galaxy (aka Cat Daddy) video that explained why kibble is not the best thing for cats. It's basically over processed "food". Admittedly dry food is convenient, but I only give it to Deja, maybe 30% of the time. A steady diet of kibble is especially bad for male cats; it could cause urinary tract issues, according to a friend who used to have a male cat and wound up having to put him on the Science Diet forever.

The wet food I feed Deja Fancy Feast tuna primavera, mostly...its become her favorite. It has contains tomatoes, carrots and spinach. I also give her Friskies ocean white fish which lists poultry, spinach and rice as ingredients. Her dry food variety is Purina kitten chow , Temptations "crunchy and soft" cat treats" and Friskies party mix.

My daisy ate quite a lot of table food…I ruined her manners at a very young age. She got purina with scraps also twice daily. Her internal clock worked like this. First her breakfast…followed by sharing mine. Then I had to eat lunch because she wanted to share. Then she ate dinner promptly at 4 pm. Then our dinner had to follow at 5pm so she could share. Between all that were occasional treats…usually dehydrated liver or chicken gizzards. She was 16 when she failed last year…i sure miss her.

Costco brand. Six 40 pound bags saves me enough to pay for my membership and the 130 mile round trip to Costco. My dog loves it, although I don't understand why. How can you get excited about eating the same thing meal after meal, day after day, and year after year? He does. I feed him at 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM, and Jackson reminds me of the time if I forget. He does this special short half growl when it's time.
