If the can has a hole in it I'd chuck it away, but a sticking plaster might stop it leaking temporarally. ;) 😊
 
If I want canned soup, I buy the lower sodium kind. It's still a lot of sodium but only about half the amount in the others.

A handful of frozen veggies, whatever's in the freezer, sometimes a shake of Worcestershire sauce, and for cream soups, I always heat them up with milk rather than water.
 
It depends on what sort of soup it is , but I do not add extra salt as canned soups already have a ton of that in it. I will add some extra pepper as well as Italian seasonings.
