What Do You Like To Name Your Pets?

I have a thing for Sir my cat currently is named. Sir Perigrine Took but hes called Pippin ( It was my Tolkien faze lol ) also had a Sir Winston after Churchill and my rescue cat's name is Honey and I call her Honey Boo Boo I know terrible lol just like the train wreck that was the show.

Despite their names.. I STILL use special names for each one.. that have evolved over time.. who knows why..

IZZY.... "E" Or E-Bots..... Or just BOTSIE.

Pete.. Peenie.... or just Peens

Monroe.. Roe.... or Roses

Murphy. Murmers... Murms, or Murski

Harold.... Hairballs, Balsie

Mitzie..... Meemers... meems

Belle... Belamie.... Bella... Bella-brush-you

Carl.....Car Keys.... Car Keys kittie, Keyskers

Jack.... Jaybird... Jay... Birdie..

They all know their real names plus they respond to my little nicknames for them

I really think they can read the tones in our voice. Our dogs have all kinds of nicknames...Chickendog, Stinutz...but even just who's my Biiiiig Boyyy or who's Mama's girrrllll and the tails go flying

If I had my druthers, I'd choose one-syllable names, but it never works out that way. Never could come up with names. My last cat was named Kitty.

I was forced to come up with a name for my current cat at the vet's office and said Peanut, but never used it since. I just say "Hey, Little One" most of the time.

And when we got 14 goats all at once---yikes!!

As a kid we had a dog named Duke.

Had a dog named Susie we got as a 2 year old so we didn't pick the name. My cats have been named Kippy, Sarah, Nicholas (nickname Nick).

Had a friend whose dogs were named peanut butter, jelly.

Although we'd love to have a couple of dogs, we travel too much and for too long. But I would name them something in Gaelic.

Wow Quicksilver, you've got an even bigger family than us! Our Sophie got aggressive towards other than family pets. When she buys the farm a litter of kittens the same day.

The first cat we owned when we first married was called Cosmas Indicopleustes, named after a monk who featured in my husband's first degree thesis!:D It didn't last very long it managed to get squashed by a car a few months after we had it! All our other animals had crazy names too!

We have had a dog called susie and then a Ruby and a Pepsi and now a Mitzi and Poppy
my daughters dogs are Eddie and Lily.

I've mentioned elsewhere that it was kind of neat when I was a kid, I named each wave of goldfish after different US presidents.
