What do you like to post on FB?

Speaking for myself, I like FB better because of all the other features it offers. I can "like" or join other interesting pages and therefore get interesting or fun posting in my news feed. Then my FB friends and I can share these postings back and forth with eachother. Nothing is totally private online any more, if ever. With FB we have the option of choosing our audience and therefore achieving a degree of "privacy" I find FB quite fun.

Ditto.

There are quite a few pages I follow, often because I noticed a friend had commented or 'liked' it. A quick peek shows I get stories from The Guardian, Liberal and Proud of it, some Scotland sites, Thich Nhat Hanh (Buddhist Monk), Bernie Sanders, Hillary Clinton, photography sites, Jon Stewart page, Democrats Abroad Scotland, some humour sites, philosophical quotes, The Sarcasm Diaries, Outlander fans, local news.......

You do not have to correspond, when sharing family pictures/activities. Only respond when you feel a need to. I am sure nieces, nephews, grand children and god children do not need to email me frequently. Nor I them. Still it is nice to keep up with their lives. For they are far enough away that i may never see them again.
And as Annie said, there is an option that allows you to send posts only to certain groups, such as family members.
I also belong to several art groups....that I rarely post to, yet read daily.

I joined Facebook and dropped it after the first week. Had no use for all that "Like and dislike" crap.

Sounds like a bunch of 3rd graders. I KNOW where all my relatives and friends are.

You didn't give it much of a chance. And FYI, there is no dislike on FB.

I did not like it at first either. Took me several months to get used to it. Still do not understand why people put such personal info up. I too know where my relatives are....just too far away. ;)

I love viewing and then sharing videos about animals...especially the unusual ones that show the loving relationships between unlikely creatures... its heartening, humbling, and just makes you feel good!
I also thinks its WONDERFUL to 'meet' and be in touch with people from all over the world...this, to me, is the best thing about FB... it brings the world closer together.... even though the 'news' is programmed to try to keep us divided...

I "share" things I have seen more than I post stuff of my own. Most of my FB friends do the same. They don't post personal messages or news or anything on their pages, and all we ever do is "like" each other's pics; we rarely comment on them.

I hear about people who join FB groups and communicate with other people but I can't figure out how they find the groups or how they communicate on them. The few groups I've joined, no one really communicates.

I was very disappointed when I first joined FB; I had thought it would be like an online BB where people would actually "converse" with each other, as in forums. But all they do is post pics and click "like."

I have conversations on FB like on forums, only the posts are not as long. I've found groups just by searching or by being invited by a friend. Photography groups, expat groups, etc.

I have friends that post something nearly every day that gives me a laugh. One is an artist and she paints a picture every day and posts it.

Our FB experience depends on who we have for friends.
