What do you think of Halloween?

I used to enjoy decorating our enclosed porch in anticipation of the trick-or-treat crowd. They always commented and appreciated the effort .. surprisingly, the older kids would comment the most. Our last dog would sniff the children, and they would pet his head. Alas, we are now in a condo, so, no more Halloween :(

Since I don't have children, it's a holiday that I don't really observe. I don't even buy candy.
In fact, I haven't had a trick or treater to my home in probably 20-30 yrs.

I live on a busy street and there are only 2 kids across the street from me.

As long as kids want to play dress-up or as some scary creature, we will keep dishing out the chocolate. We live in Hershey. Chocolate Town, USA.

Well there are two types of Halloween celebrators:
1. See it as a fun dress-up day with no real spiritual connection. (majority)
2. See it as a day with spiritual occult significance.

I am in the second category. And as such, I do not celebrate it in the usual way. What I did do is help with a Halloween night ministry that gave out hundreds of free bibles and bible story books (and candy) on a popular trick-or-treat street.

I didn't hand out candy this year. It was supposed to be pretty cold and I didn't expect there would be many kids. Besides, they always set the trick or treating times between 4 and 7 and I'm either busy cooking dinner or eating dinner. Got tired of eating cold food and/or jumping up off the sofa a hundred times.
