What Do You Think ?

Is there such a thing as "Bigfoot" or whatever you want to call it. Not the picture but the big hairy thing running around in a lot of woods in lots of locations. (I just realized I described myself when I had a beard and long hair).

Anyhow, I'm a skeptic and find it hard to believe that no one has found anything but a few footprints of something and a few fuzzy pictures that don't amount to a hill of beans.

Skeptic here too, so.... nup.
We have our own version here too, the Yowie. Dunno what it looks like because everyone seems to see something different, probably depending on what brand they were drinking. We've got Panthers too, like everyone else, and the Bunyip, which I found uncannily like the tale we tourists were spun of some equally unseen but sworn to exist spirit inhabiting Lake Okenagan in Canada. (I think it was that one, it was a loooong time ago)
I asked the tour guide how many of them there were, and said just the one. "and it's been there for untold centuries according to Indian tales?" "Oh, yes". So I asked him why he wasn't in the business of bottling the water and selling it as the fountain of youth if it's lasted that long on it's own.:devilish:

We have our own lake monster in Lake Champaign called Champ. Lots of folks swear they have seen it, even on land. If you have ever noticed a large log bobbing up and down in the water, it can become anything you want..

yes, Finding Bigfoot is here too. The green face people wandering around in the woods at night. Listen, did you hear that.? There's a Squatch in these woods. Put a wig on Bobo and he looks big enough to be one.

I take a slightly different view of critters like Bigfoot and Nessie ... I go with the idea that just because we haven't found them yet doesn't mean they don't exist. There are so many wild and wonderful things in this world, and I think it's the apex of human ego to think that we've discovered everything there is to be discovered.

In 2009 alone, 19,233 new species were discovered, 41 of which were mammals. Between 2000-2009 a total of 176,311 new species were discovered.

A bit humbling, no?

So when Bigfoot or Yeti or Nessie or Chupacabras are mentioned I like to reserve the right to suspend judgement. You just never know ...

I've seen bigfoot ..... AKA Aussie swimmer Ian Thorpe.

Big Foot?

I think this animal is the product of moonshine, swamp gas, and boredom!
I have this mental image of two fellows sitting on a porch - chewing, whittling, and telling tall tales - and thinking up tricks to play on "city folk". With a few successful dress rehearsals, these fellows decide to up the ante by creating video "evidence" and selling it to any and all takers.

Every photo or video clip I have seen of Big Foot shows a beast that looks like something from a costume shop, not nature!

People are so funny.

I think that such a creature could exist, and only glimpses of it be seen. There are stories of a Bigfoot in the folklore of a lot of different countries. They may all have different names, but the basic description is pretty much the same, so I think they have been seen at different times, and we just don't have any good pictures. Or if there is more proof, it has been kept covered up.

Scientists are still discovering new creatures and plants, some of which have been considered to be extinct, especially in the ocean depths. There are lakes where the bottom has not been found, and that is usually where the "sea serpent" type of creature is spotted, and again, many of the descriptions of the various ones are similar, even though in different countries where the legends are not likely to spread from one place to another.

I really think that there could be such a thing as Bigfoot , and I think it would be so interesting if they ever get some real proof of one.

We also have the Bunyip here in Oz but they are all figments of peoples imagination...after all the years, there would be proof by now if they existed...
Seeing is believing and I aint seen any of them...

I grew up living in the next bush track to this bloke at Lansvale, in Sydney's west.It really was bushland way back then,so he had plenty of space for (hunting yowies and Spanish invaders) in my river.:lofl:

We used to think he was a crazy butterfly chasing nut case.
I still do,(but that's besides the point,)he has made a name for himself,(well,a couple really:rolleyes:)
He lives in Katoomba in our Blue Mountains and his wife gave up her nursing career to help him write his books as he is semi-literate.(sp)
I still get a Christmas card every year cause my Dear Brother still keeps in touch with him and very kindly gave him my address.:aargh:
