so .. in your whole 28 years , all the people you've met...whose lives you've touched, who you've worked with, socialised with... had a family with....if they were told you'd passed on, you don't think any of them would say '' Aww I remember officer Ripley when she... '' ?

Probably not.

The two people that know me the best, my ex and my current, both have described me the same way......he's hard headed and hot headed but he has a big heart.

No matter my faults I guess I'd want to be remembered as having a big heart.

Resigning from the Navy Reserve. After returning to civilian life I soon discovered the terribly mistaken nature of the Vietnam war and advised the Secretary of the Navy of a plausible story I had been told while on active duty of prisoners pushed from helicopters. His response was that this was a “sea story” - in short a lie. I resigned my Reserve commission and regret I had a part in that debacle.
