What do you want to happen after death?

This is a spin off to the "what happens after death?" thread.

What do you want to happen? And why? Not what do you belive will happen, but what would you want. Assend to heaven? Be reincarnated? Get a life do over? Be a ghost? Nothing? Never die and live forever?

Personally I'm OK with once being enough. The world is a hard place and I don't want to live another life time here in any way. Floating around in the clouds all day sounds kind of boring so that's out as well.

I'm hoping to lock the door when I leave.

I know a guy who believes that dark matter in outer space is deceased people's energy and consciousness. That would probably make for an interesting after-life.

But what I want is: I want my wife to sell the house and get one in a nicer area that's closer to where she'll likely be working. She doesn't want to do that, but I'm hoping she'll change her mind. If she stays here til after it's paid off and she has her degree (in a couple years), she probably will want to move where the best jobs are at some point. But there's no rush.

I also want her to stay in touch with my former foster son and hold onto the memory book I made for him. I asked her to give it to him when he's 15. She'll do both those things for sure.

I want my attorney to take care of everything else, and he knows it. He's good to go after I do.

My Mother's last words with a gentle smile, "I just want to be in Jesus arms". That's what I want too.
She passed at the age of 93 of pancreatic cancer but had very little pain to the end. She was special.

When this world ends and a new perfect earth begins with new bodies (biblical prophecy),
I want to be there for that and see my family, friends, and pets again.

Well, I already told my peeps..."I'm coming back". And if they do something stupid, my ghost will slap them upside their heads and I'll haunt them until they set things right. :D Seriously, I know some don't believe in this, but I'd really hope to be able to see my loved ones who passed before me, again in a lovely, peaceful environment.

Yeah I don’t think that but I’ve been reading a theory that posits a primordial form of consciousness (the One) which doesn’t arise from anything else but rather gives rise to everything else including matter, life and brains. Under this view everything flows and transforms but the primordial consciousness itself can be thought of as a great river which assumes various forms. It underlies everything else and everything else is both part of it and distinct in itself. Some forms, like a vortex in a river, can be relatively stable longer than others. In this way our present form is something like a vortex, enduring for a while. Perhaps by giving rise to forms like us the One is becoming self aware?

We are wholes unto ourself now but this form cannot endure as such forever. Everything flows and transforms. But whatever form we may assume will still be part of the One as we were before and will be after. Of course we are always also part of that One no matter what form we have become. The many are always parts of the One and the One is pleased to withdraw in places to make room for new forms to arise.

Oh I'm coming back...I'm gonna haunt the Eff out of everyone who has created problems for me on this earth.. that's the ones who haven't already gone to hell already where they deserve !!...they are so gonna wish they'd kept out of my life and my business when I was alive...believe me.. ☠️💀🫥👻

Get 'em Holly! Like I said, I just want my pets that have passed away.

I do wonder though, if abusers realize and are shown what they did in their life. We all would have reflections, but some need some accountability they didn't have in life.

What is consciousness?

As to how our brains relate to consciousness I’ve heard three theories: production, transmission and permission. The first is the idea that brains produce consciousness the way our GI tract produces digestion; somehow the atoms, blood and guts of our brain tissues which contain no thought, intention or experience in themselves just magically give rise to consciousness. The second is that our brains, like a radio receiver pick up a kind of signal which connects us to consciousness. The third is similar to the second except it supposed the brain as being more active in the portions of consciousness it selects. Like other aspects of bodily evolution, that part of consciousness that is most advantageous is selected for naturally.

The famously hard mind body problem about how stuff gives rise to all the facets of subjective experience is best handled by the third option, permission whereby the brain filters something that is already there to optimize what is received - for the kind of creature we are. Other brains would operate similarly for other kinds of creatures.

It is very murky but still pretty interesting to think about. If I were a religious man I’d posit God within the primordial consciousness which gives rise to all else. But our relationship would be more mutualistic than the way it is usually conceived. We are still the lesser, more dependent partner but both parties derive value in the relationship.

That my wife adapts to being a widow. Were doing all we can think of now to assure a smooth transition to her being left to do all the things we usually do together.

Other than that the realization that a want is meaningless since I won't be around to see what happens.

Good idea, floating about with all the celestial particles for eternity, will be worse than the London Smog in 1952.

Now Mortimer and Whitehouse on TV, better than Heaven.

Yeah, I think I've heard that idea (or philosophy?) as well. Is that where it's asserted that every person's consciousness is actually part of one consciousness but we are only aware of that after death? So, in essence, death brings enlightenment as our individual consciousness...es are absorbed, or you might say reunited.

I can see how that relates to the black matter idea if you envision the One as a tangible thing.
