..rather than put the heating on ?

Utility prices in the UK are through the roof, so we have to as much as we can not to turn the heating on.. so looking for something to keep me warm , yet still be practical to do chores in , I found this a few weeks ago..

It's called a Slanket sometimes known as an Oodie , for those who don't know.. it's fleece lined and very warm , and with pockets and a hood. They are made for all genders... plain or patterned.. knee length or ankle length ...and have become extremely popular with all ages even to the otherwise fashion conscious ..

It's far from attractive, so I'm glad I live on my own, but it's saving me a lot of money for heating bills..

This is mine..

Sweatsuits or my fleece robe over my regular clothes.
see I started wearing my fleece robe over my clothes just recently, never done that before.. but I found it woudn't stay tied, or in fact I didn't like being bundled like a sack of spuds ... and when I left it open the darn belt would fall into the loo ... so when I saw this ..I'm wearing it now, cuz it's 11.30pm... I thought it was ideal..with no buttons or belts..

I had already seen those that are full length but I didn't want those either because I'm up and downstairs all the time, and I didn't want to risk tripping.. so this at just below the knee on top of my sweater and my trousers, is toasty

I think this year with costs going up on everything I'm gonna do my level best to just bundle up more rather than getting too crazy with the heat. I usually wear socks and leggings and t-shirt and then have a throw or blankies on the sofa. If it's too cold I have thrown on my stocking hat in the house before. One day I had all that on plus I threw on my thin zip hoodie. LOL

You're right about the belt falling into the loo! :ROFLMAO:

yes that's been my kinda way to dress in winter at home in previous years when we could just put the heating on when it got too cold... but now the prices are so high that it's really important to keep it off for as long as possible and is practical to do so

In Nebraska my house would get really cold and then thermal long underwear under my clothes was very helpful.

But for going outdoors I'd just wear sweatpants over my jeans. When I used to spend hours outside in the freezing cold then 'toe warmers' were really great (but maybe too expensive to use all the time).

so you don't just turn the thermostat down? you like turn the heat all the way off?

Great idea! Looks comfy too.

I have multiple throws on every sofa in my home. Lots of blankets on the bed too.

I will wear sweatpants and a sweatshirt if it's too cold in the house and ultimately, turn up the heat a bit.
Yep I have a throw on my sofa too.. and like you multiple comforters on my bed.. but when I'm upstairs in my little office room on the computer as I am now..it's very cold.. so to prevent having to put the heating on.. this Oodie../ slanket is fab..

it really is.. I was thinking that it wouldn't be very comfortable, and so that's why I ended up with this colour and pattern because it was a lot cheaper in the store than others.. and so I thought if I don't feel comfy in it, I've not lost too much money... but now I know , next year I'll choose a colour I prefer..

I choose comfortable over price and being pretty.
