What does freedom mean to you in your life and are you there?

Freedom to me is...
Learning to say NO and mean it. Knowing that everybody is not going to like me no matter how hard I try and that is ok. If everybody like me, then I am doing something wrong. If everybody like me then I am living my life to please them and that is a very HARD JOB which I have retired from. WE ARE AT AN AGE THAT WE DESERVE TO BE FREE!!!! I EARNED THE F IN FREEDOM😇

As long as the bills continue freedom is nothing more than a banner hanging in an old dusty bedroom.
For me.. I will not allow bills to hold me hostage to having a since of freedom in my life. I allowed financial difficulty to take control of my life at one point in my life, IT WAS NOT GOOD AT ALL... NEVER AGAIN!!!

"Freedom's just another word for nothin' left to lose ..." - Fred L. Foster / Kris Kristofferson, Me and Bobby McGee

Retirement is as close to freedom as I will ever get.

I still marvel at my checking account watching the money from my rich Uncle Sam flow in and the money for my bills flow out automatically each month, the best part is that I get to keep the leftovers for myself!

freedom to me -is not always about monies … freedom is to have a vote and a say in your country- without being
slammed in jail like so many ' freedom is to stand on your soap box in London and rant about what the government is doing
wrong ''' and to hold peaceful demo' (y)

I agree but unfortunately here in the Uk as you know , we have all but lost the freedom of free speech... just yesterday someone was taken to court because she ''dared '' to tell another woman on the train that eating stinky boiled eggs in public at 6am on packed train was offensive . The woman reported her to the police and she was arrested and taken to court and fined... This is typical of this country now, we can't breath in the wrong direction it's like Stalingrad-uk ... you will not voice your thoughts!!

Back to topic...

Freedom aside from free speech, to me is Freedom from debt ( thnk God I am )... and freedom from Pain..

if you suffer illness and pain you're a slave to your own body and to the medical world..unfortunately!!

I remember many years ago hearing my young daughter say, "I can't wait until I'm grown up and don't have to do anything I don't want to do!" Yep, how's that working out for ya, babe?

To me, freedom is having "choices". Yes, it's true that as an adult I have the freedom to not do anything I don't want to do, but along with that comes the "choice" to accept the consequences of not doing or doing. I have the freedom to choose not to work, but then I have the choice of starving to death or living under a bridge and begging at the intersection. I have the freedom to drink or smoke myself to death, but then I have a choice on how long my journey to that death will be.

I've exercised my freedom; I've made good choices and I've made bad choices. I'm still here and I'm still free.

'WHAT DOES FREEDOM MEAN TO YOU IN YOUR LIFE AND ARE YOU THERE?'

Freedom in my life?

Freedom of thought

Been 'there' as long as I can recall
All my life
Any situation
Any where

I do believe we all have that

Sadly, some don't use it

Freedom, for me, is the belief that I can live my life the way I choose. If I think too hard about that, though, I have to acknowledge that true freedom is illusory: In the US, you are free, to an extent, but when you come up against the powers that be, whomever they may be, in a specific situation, you quickly realize that in some, if not most, cases, you simply have to bend over and take what's being given. Tax laws are absurd, insurance rules are absurd, medical procedures and billing practices are absurd, yet all, and more ruling bodies, can, basically, do whatever they want to you, at any time, and you have little opportunity to challenge their edicts. THAT is NOT true freedom, as I see it, for me. I do try to go along blissfully ignorant of the preceding realities of my existence, so, for me, that ignorance is, truly, bliss!

Bea, I just had a ''senior moment''. I thought you really had a rich uncle named Sam and got an inheritance from him. Ahahaha!

I think there was more to it than that. It would seem that she acted in a threatening manner and screamed in the woman's face. She was fined £750 and ordered to pay £750 compensation.

I don't think we have much freedom in the UK, unless you're an anarchist, terrorist or similar and then you can scream all you want about your human rights while seeking to deny them to others.

That is sooo true being a slave to the medical world when you have an illness and in pain. That is why a lot of people are turning to natural remedies to help their illness/pain.

Sorry things have taken such a turn in the U.K., Holly. How about the Hyde Park orators? Are they still permitted to get on their soapboxes and rant on about whatever pleases them? I hope so!
