What does this contract mean

My new lawn guy just finished. He had emailed me an invoice (see attachment) showing his rates. I thought from the document it would be $40, but he charged me $65. I though that meant it would be $65 if he came every other week. Did I misunderstand?

Yes. It says the weekly rate is $40.00 and the bi-weekly rate is $65.00. So he charged you correctly. If you have your grass cut every two weeks, the charge is $65.00. That's cheap, deb.

If you have him coming every week, he'll charge $40 every time he shows up. If you chose the bi-weekly, he'll be charging $65 every time he mows. So it's $160/month vs. $130/month.

I did ask if the $65 covered when he came in 2 weeks, but he said it would be another $65, so I'm still confused.
The problem here is Bi-weekly can mean both twice per week..or twice per month.. ( should just be Bi-Monthly for the latter )... however they're used interchangeably, so it looks like your gardener is referring to Bi-weekly.. (Twice per week) $65 total... or Bi-Monthly every 2 weeks.. £65 per visit or $130 per month

Lawn-care guys usually charge extra for the 1st visit. He did not mention that in the contract, though. Tell him, politely, that the math doesn't seem to add up.

You are getting a bargain.

In American English, bi-weekly always means once every 2 weeks. The term for twice per week is always twice-weekly.

Reading this I don't know what your choice was nor do I know if you clarified what the contact meant.

I take the contract as posted to mean the lawn guy will come every two weeks since he charged $65.00 . So two weeks from today he should show up again & bill you for $65.00.
