What food have you never eaten but would really like to try?

For me it would be lobster. It's too expensive to buy just to taste. I keep hoping I'll just happen to be with someone somewhere and get a free sample bite.

One of these days, I'd like to try Durian fruit. It's supposed to smell horrible but taste good. I'm willing to try it because.....well, just because.
I'm not fond of stinky foods but, we have a burger place here that makes these little slider sized burgers with ketchup, mustard, pickle and onion. And they smell like someone's armpit to me but, they are so so so yummy! If you eat in the restaurant it will funkify your clothes. LOL

Are you referring to White Castle hamburgers? We always called them "armpit burgers" and they were beyond yummy. There have never been any here in Florida, so I always have to get my "fix" when I go somewhere they are in business, BUT I just read we're getting our first one somewhere here in Central Florida. I will SO be there when it opens!

No but I'm sure they're basically the same. Does White Castle have fries?

I can't think of any food that I'd like to try, I'm fortunate that I've been able to try most exotic foods and food from nmany different countries I've visited.. ... there's bound to be lots of foods in exotic countries I've never tried that I'm not aware of....so unless I travel to them, then for now there's nothing I would yearn for...

You might try the frozen food section, noticed them last week at the supermarket so if they are available frozen in Canada I am sure you can buy them in the USA frozen. Probably not the same quality as fresh though.

Used to have them when I lived in Windsor and hope across the border to Detroit, have no idea why they are so good but they are.

Sardines, never tried them but they are considered good for you. I have two tins in the pantry and just keep shoving them aside.
*Ugh* I hate sardines... full of bones and slimy Yuck... but each to their own, my o/h used to love them before he became vegan... and my ex m-i-l served them up religiously for sunday tea to the family who all loved them ...but I hate them, .. if you like pilchards you'll probably like sardines

Here ya go Lee... saves me typing it out :D

Anchovies, sardines and pilchards are essentially the same oily fish different sizes but from the herring family and usually always sold in cans... and I have a theory that the reason sardines and pilchards are sol in various sauces is because they are so disgusting..:D:sick:

Anchovies are very salty when used as fillets, and one tiny anchovy fillet added to a meat dish willf lavour it like nothing else can.. even if you don't like anchovies...

And now Holly you honestly think with that description I am gonna open that can of sardines. Off to the food bank they go :D :D :D
hahaha...that's so funny,😂 because when my husband changed to being a vegan from vegetarian.. I had about 10 cans of sardines etc in various flavours in the cupboard for him, so that's exactly what I had to do with them took them to the food bank!!

they're especially good for you apparently... but *ugh* no thanks.. to me they're vile

Marcie, when we lived in Maine we cooked lobster only when we had visitors who asked for it. We can get good live lobsters here for around $6/lb but, personally, I don't find them particularly exciting. I used to prefer Alaskan king crab legs, split and lightly broiled with herb butter, but at over $30/lb these days they've become absurdly expensive.

You're so right Tommy, they're far too expensive for their taste if you get my meaning... not worth the money at all

Took my lady to a place on the north side of the Columbia river
Skamania Lodge

She'd been talking about lobster for weeks, even slurred the word, due to excess saliva
Well, at the time, they'd fly in fresh lobster on a daily basis

So, I thought, let's do it
First time for me
Not sure what all the fuss is about
She ate mine too

Nice place
I was interested in the golf course

The view was nice

Funny thing, toured the lodge propper
Everbody was lounging around in pajamas...at midday no less

Actually, can't think of any
I like what I like, and order accordingly
However, there's many a dish I've had for the first time that I would never ever have again

Truffle. Not just those tiny flecks that are in the pate' I sometimes buy, but a few slices to really know what it tastes like.

( btw, I love lobster)
