What happened this week to make you happy ?

I got a pm from my son Owen, he and grandson Liam, who will turn 13 on 12/5, got their Happy Thanksgiving cards and Liam insisted on reading his aloud. This is an occasion for joy because Liam is on the Autism Spectrum, he was non-verbal for several years. Therapy helped. But he's been slow to demonstrate his reading skills, which is an anomaly in this family.

We knew he could read because now and then he would slip up and demonstrate it. And last visit, he wrote things on illustrations he drew. Daughter and i had realized in a book store a couple of years ago he even knows a little Spanish (they have lived in AZ since 2011). But it really tickled me that he insisted on reading the card.

It's so chufftifying to see someone get their comeuppance.

There is a young bloke with a shiny car, with a very loud radio booming out crap, so called music, real head banging stuff, and he roars around the neighbourhood frightening old folk with his speeding.
If it's been raining and there are deep puddles of water in the roadside gutter, he thinks it is hillarious to drive through them at speed creating a torrent of water to almost drown people on the pavement (sidewalk).

But today, he came speeding around a corner and ran slap-bang into a delivery truck. He wasn't hurt, but his pride and joy hotrod had to be towed away.

Nothing could wipe the smile off my face. 😊

I watched the Spousal Equivalent and my 5-year-old great-granddaughter work on Sodoku puzzles for hours this week. He was so patient with her and she was absolutely fascinated with the puzzles.

She had a good grasp on the concept (which is a *heck* of a lot better than I can) and said, "Meemaw, I REALLY like math!"

Looking over at their heads together, so buried in their game, made my heart happy.

I also had a lovely Thanksgiving. Total of 14 people, mostly family. Enough to keep it interesting, not so many that we didn't all get a chance to visit one-on-one. Gorgeous weather, delicious food, great company, plus all were vaxxed and recently boostered so worries were few.

My daughter and i actually have 2 each of these. One for our beds and one we use till fire in woodstove is going good in the living room. They are so warm and cozy feeling.
yes I have quite a few I have to admit. In the livingroom currently there's 2 Scarlet ones on the backs of the sofas.. and I have a gold one on top of my bed ...there's a couple more in other rooms.. but I want to change the colour of my livingroom after Christmas from yellow , red & green soft furnishings and add more pastels so I've bought the baby blue to match my wine coloured sofas..and baby blue and pink lined Cushion covers.. to replace the deep red & bottle green

Santa came to visit on his sled around our roads last night...

A local charity does this every year..

Santa comes around during December and the children know he's come to check their addresses before he brings their parcels.. soo they all wave to him,so Santa can see for himself..:sneaky:
