What happened to shoes & socks?

Why does it seem everyone is going barefoot these days - even in public? When I had my garage sale, the most substantial thing I saw on people's feet were flip flops. All they have to do is step on a bee or a sharp stone and - lawsuit! I've even seen people barefoot in church. When did we get away from footwear?

When I retired, one of the first to go was shoes! Had to wear them for various reasons in the military and on most every job I had following the military, no choice just wear them. Retired and had a choice so now it's flip flops, slippers or au natural :coffee:. Don...

Good lord...^^^^^...

Nothing happened to shoes and socks here..everybody wears them.... wanna see my trainers cupboard ?..well this is one of my trainers cupboards... I have another one and a much larger boot and shoe cupboard

I don't like to go barefoot because I don't like feeling rough surfaces under my tender tootsies. At home, when it's hot, I wear flip-flops. If I'm out shopping or doing any significant street walking, I wear closed-toe shoes. I don't like getting my feet dirty while walking around stores or in urban environments. When I'm doing any type of work outside, I wear my muck boots. You never know what you'll encounter in the grass or weeds. I don't want to get bitten or lose a toe! I do go barefoot at the beach, but sometimes when walking along the shoreline if there are a lot of shells, I'll wear my flip-flops to avoid stepping on them because they can be sharp, and I don't want to get cut.

That's what your homeowner's insurance will cover. Don't worry about that.

Every job I have had has been on my feet. Anymore I only wear good support tennis shoes and yes always socks. I have the low ones for the summer.
