What happened to winter?

I live in Northeast PA. And I'm wondering what happened to winter. We had 1 storm where I had to use my snow blower, and the snow melted a week later. Usually I have snow on the ground till April. There's none now. I don't know if I'm just in a lucky place or did winter fizzle out for you too.
BTW, you know somebody from Florida or Hawaii is gonna write in and bitch about their bad weather.

I'm in the hills of NE California (@ just under 4-thousand-feet elevation). We didn't get the couple of feet of snow we usually get in late Jan/early Feb. And while the higher elevations got dumped on a few times, it wasn't as much as usual. We also didn't get as much rain. The nearly empty lakes are looking pretty good, but it's not likely they'll reach capacity with the snow-melt.

We had a winter like that last June-- August had a few days under 10c ( we don't have snow in South Australia ) then Summer come in with a Big Bang in October ( Spring) this week it's going to be in high 30's C ..and all next week it's been very dry and HOT .since October with very little relief ..

Usually, we get at least one big snowfall of 12", or more...and I have to spend most of a day grading it off the driveway with my tractor...and I build up mounds that don't completely melt until late March. This year, we've only had about 7 inches total...and they were scattered over 4 or 5 light events with perhaps 2 inches being the most. Outside of a few nights where the temperatures got into the low teens, Winter has been Very mild this year. I wonder it this isn't the precursor to a long Hot Summer. The El Nino certainly has lived up to its predictions for the central U.S.

I don't care where winter has gone because I'm a summer person. We've had 3 or 4 small snow storms in MA. We're supposed to get more this weekend. Lots of black ice and mixed precip storms. After last winter, I never want snow again. Period. Ask anybody in Boston. Yikes.

Well it ain't rubbish, boozer, but I'll be dead before we have real problems so I'm enjoying the warm weather.

Good on you Underdock1.

You obviously have the right idea on life, and I am not looking for an argument on climate change, no matter how it is brought about.
So let's make hay while the Sun shines!:D
Here in Rhos On Sea which is in North Wales UK, it is just 6c and the Sun is shining, so we are off out on a lovely long promenade walk while we still can!

I'm convinced, but not pretending to be the only person on the planet who knows for sure. Not a crusader. Enjoy those walks together, Pappy. One of the things I miss the most. Thanks for the "Good Morning" and the coffee. I'm about to make my morning cup right now. You guys have a great day! :coffee:

When I wrote the line about people from warm places yammering about how "bad" winter was, I thought of OZ. But, really what are the odds an Aussie would write in? That's right our winter is your "summer". And dry and hot is very bad thing there. I've seen pics of these monster fires engulfing cities.
