What happened to winter?

In my mountainous region, lack of a normal level of snowfall certainly affects skiers & skiing businesses. True, it makes life in the valley bottoms easier due to greatly reduced snow management on our properties. And less work for the road crews who clear our highways & main access roads.

The major concern is less snowpack, hence drier conditions next summer on the treed slopes. Lightening strikes therefore being more likely to set off smokey, threatening wildfires. Also, reduced groundwater and flow in the mountain streams can diminish water supply to homes.

I don't know, but wherever it went...it can stay there. We had a couple of days in the 50s last week here in north Jersey. The highest temp this week is forecast to be 62 (real feel 61) on Saturday. It's not supposed to rain so I might just take the train to the Hoboken waterfront park.

mildest winter in North fla I can remember. Everything is growing and nothing killed back.
Last year we had 3 days hit 20 degrees. Killed back LOTS of stuff.
