What Have You Been Putting Off That Needs To Be Done Soon?

I've been procrastinating when it comes to getting these done:
~Cleaning and reorganizing my walk in closet, including my purses
~Shredding papers
~Typical spring cleaning stuff
~Revising the remaining compositions slated for my next album (for some that means playing all melodic arrangements over šŸ˜’)

And yours? Are you putting them off because of lack of time or sheer procrastination?

Normally I am not a procrastinater, I'm kind of the opposite. But....when I retired six years ago I set aside a chunk of money to buy a second home so I could be a snow bird, didn't buy one. Then started looking at land instead, never bought any.

So now it's been six years that the money has been resting in a bank earning basically nothing. I tell myself probably weekly to move it to a better paying interest account or invest it. Yet I don't do it, I don't know what the hell is wrong with me.

At the moment it is taking my morning walk and then taking a shower. I usually have both done by now.

On a longer term scale, I need to go through all my old clothes and donate the clothes I do not wear anymore. And I need to go through all my junk and throw away or donate what I don't use anymore. I guess I just need to downsize but haven't started on that project.

My exercise / hobby room is getting put off. It was a huge job that almost got finished but didn’t . Unfortunately months went by. It’s the room that I play my saxophone in so my practicing has been put on hold. Now I’m a bit rusty; my embouchure isn’t quite what it used to be. I’m getting exercise from mowing the lawn and going for walks. I do some leg exercises on the large dog beds.

You might as well procrastinate. We never procrastinate. We can't sleep unless we have all our ducks in a row. We pay our bills at point of sale and our utilities by direct debit. We have our taxes done by the last day of January and I've already washed down the house's siding with vinegar. And yet ...

When a glass shattered in the kitchen the other day there was no liner in the waste basket even though I tear up twenty at a time in that thing and when we got pulled over by the police the other day my husband did not have updated insurance papers in the glove box, just about 20 out dated ones, because, just this once, he hadn't remembered to print it off the computer and put it in the glove box. He had paid, it but we don't have a printer so he has to do it where he works.

I was furious. We've given that company thousands and thousands of dollars over the years, never once put in a claim and they can't be bothered to send us a 3x5 card to put in our glove box. Instead we have to do their work for them and buy a computer printer for their convenience.

I'm refinishing a huge pine dining table that seats 8. It has a beautiful grain and I'm almost finished sanding it. But I've got a block with the next step. A clear finish brings out a yellow in it...which I don't want. Stain color choices are just not floating my boat. I like the natural look it has now.

I also need a finish what will protect from the moisture that periodically comes from "my" ocean or Florida's. My renters last year ruined my other mahogany table by placing wet glasses on it and hot things without using the coasters provided leaving white spots. Usually fixable but I waited too long.

To finish I'm thinking Polyurethane...maybe 2 coats...semi gloss?

My "putting off" can best be attributed to FEAR rather than laziness. I just don't want to mess up and I'm out of time for making any mistakes as rental season is in 6 days.

I hate to admit it but since my dog requires much more care by me now I have been afraid to leave her alone. So I haven't seen doctors like I should.v There's no need to lecture me about it, I've already heard it and I know I have to go soon. All I can do is ask for prayers or good vibes to push me in that direction, thank you šŸ’˜

That's what I've done in the past, giving the wood protection without altering the appearance.

As a building maintenance mechanic I learned that taking some time to find better solutions was more desirable in the long run, rather than jumping into a quick fix that might not have been the best direction to go in. I still do that, usually arriving at the best solution for some household repair...as I lay awake at 3 AM.

Have not renewed my driver license...need an I.D. to vote, etc...expired in 2021 I think.....LOL....
This coming election will likely be the difference between saving our country or losing our country.
You can vote without driver's license. In your state, just show one of these forms
of acceptable identification and sign the poll book to obtain your ballot:

A (nonexpired Missouri driver) or non-driver license;
A nonexpired military ID, including a veteran’s ID card
A nonexpired United States passport...$200 !? WHAT?? Last one I got was $10. It's been awhile:giggle:

well this is just what you need to go and get it done.. . if the USA is like the UK, then you don't have to go further than your Computer to transfer it into another account!

Now if you'd like us to nag you every day about it.. just shout !

when you think about going through everything to throw or donate... it's too much , so you don't do it....

..so.. instead just do one drawer, or one side of a closet... and deal with another drawer another day...

That's how I started doing mine especially when I was working full time, because I just didn't have much time to clear stuff out, and so I kept putting it off, because it was just too much all at once to do...
