What have you bought recently?

Same here so when the car goes for it's annual MOT test the dash cam if on the window has to be taken off.. equally anything hanging from the rear view mirror like an air freshener ...
As you said, same here. Nothing can be hanging from the inside rear view mirror. With the clamp, it will be an easy removal and put it back on. If I like it after we use it for a week and then review the card, I may buy one for my SUV.

I bought a new printer, a usb cable, a ream of paper, coffee and foot lotion from Amazon. From Walmart (delivered to my home, not what I buy in the store since that is groceries and too much to list here) Dawn dish soap, shampoo, conditioner and hair spray. I have also shopped using Instacart but that is groceries.......too much for listing.

We went to the store and bought four boxes of Cheerios because we eat it a lot and there was a good price if you bought that many. I also bought a box of oatmeal. Today the health news is saying there's a chemical in oats that's really bad for you so we threw is all away. People who play the stock market should follow my spending habits.

I did a search and found this article. It’s concerning. Not so much for seniors as fertility isn’t an issue. I hope the FDA does more research, fast.

Chemical Found In Cheerios, Quaker Oats May Cause Fertility Issues, Study Suggests: What To Know About Chlormequat

The Little Book of Aliens
by Adam Frank hardcover – October 24, 2023

https://www.amazon.com/Little-Book-Aliens-Adam-Frank/dp/0063279738/ref=sr_1_1
synopsis:

Everyone is curious about life in the Universe, UFOs and whether ET is out there. Over the course of his thirty-year career as an astrophysicist, Adam Frank has consistently been asked about the possibility of intelligent life in the universe. Are aliens real? Where are they? Why haven’t we found them? What happens if we do?

We’ve long been led to believe that astronomers spend every night searching the sky for extraterrestrials, but the truth is we have barely started looking. Not until now have we even known where to look or how. In The Little Book of Aliens, Frank, a leading researcher in the field, takes us on a journey to all that we know about the possibility of life outside planet Earth and shows us the cutting-edge science that has brought us to this unique moment in human history: the one where we go find out for ourselves.

In this small book with big stakes, Frank gives us a rundown of everything we need to know, from the scientific origins of the search for intelligent life, the Fermi Paradox, the Kardashev Scale, the James Webb Telescope, as well as UFOs and their conspiracy theories. Drawing from his own work and that of other scientists studying the possibility of alien life, he brings together the latest scientific thinking, data, ideas, and discoveries to equip us with the critical facts as we stand at what may be the last moment in human history where we still believe we are all alone.

This book is about everything we do—and do not—know about life, intelligent or otherwise beyond Earth. In language that is engaging, entertaining and fun, The Little Book of Aliens provides a comprehensive first look at how close we are to finding out if others actually exist—and if they do, what they might be like.

Humankind is on the precipice of finding its neighbors. What comes next? No person is better suited to answer that question—and lead the search—than Adam Frank.

Why didn't you just return them to the store the next time you went?

Well...DD and I visited Walmart and emptied their shelves💸 so I have to wait until payday tomorrow to put 💰 in savings because there's hardly anything left. I hate when that happens;)

it's racing towards 4pm..pouring of rain,. drab dismal day... I've spent almost all afternoon trying to get info from a legal organisation, been passed from pillar to post.. given so many other numbers to call, barely anyone is replying..( potential workers at home )... and thus far 21 different calls.. and only 3 have answered...

One organisation I called who'd given me a ''sure fire '' number to contact.. were stunned when I called them back and told them their sure fire number was not responding..so they've taken it upon themselves to try and contact them.. still waiting

Oh I forgot to say in the previous post, while I've been calling, or waiting for calls.. I've been searching for a new cordless Dect landline phones online.. blimey how difficult it seems to be to get any that are any good ...

Last time we replaced our landlines at Costco and ended up returning it. Finally found a semi-acceptable set there that isn’t great. We have good mobile phones and good plans so only give out those numbers now. It’s always a surprise when the home phones ring. Usually it’s from a medical provider or the home provider trying to sell us a cellphone.

yes it seems that hardly any kind of home phone I look into has any great quality to it..if it's not complaints about the sound quality, it's complaints about something else...

I also have an Iphone.. I prefer to have a landline at home as well.. because depending on the conditions the mobile doesn't always have a great signal.. and also with my landline ( I have 4 cordless handsets dotted aorund the house).. it means I don't have to carry my mobile everywhere I go... and if there's any kind of urgency, my landline is there if the mobile can't get a signal

I bought some laundry detergent sheets.

FIXSMITH Laundry Detergent Sheets - 200 Loads (100 Sheets) Fragrance Free - Hypoallergenic,Unscented,Eco Friendly Laundry Detergent Strips Concentrated Travel Detergent Sheets.Plastic-Free,Liquidless https://a.co/d/03LXurR

Seemed like a good idea for storing, travel. Uses tiny space. Reviews were good.

Spent $67 on food at Costco today - more than half of it on a couple of bags of DH's favorite coffee beans (Peet's Major Dickason). Still need to hit Costco Business Center and a couple of grocery stores later this week.

We're hosting a family birthday party this weekend and the request came in for Maui style tacos (but my version is based on seared potatoes and tofu instead of fish) and carrot cake for dessert, so I'm starting to get my ingredient ducks in a row.

you're so organised Star.... but I notice my party invite has once more gone astray... :D

Coffee seems to be one of the main purchases that drive your final total up. I bought 5 bags (300 gm/3/4 lb) on sale for $8. These aren’t even Starbucks or other higher priced brands.
