What have you bought recently?

I beat you..we walked 2 miles to school in all weathers and 2 miles back ..and believe me Scottish winters are very harsh .. In winter when it was snowing or raining hard..we used to sometimes jump on a bus that was in the days of Open back door buses, and we'd keep our fingers crossed the conductor wouldn't reach us to ask for the fair, before we'd got at least half way ..and kick us off..

OK, you got me on the distance and the bus. I didn't have to pony up my lunch money to ride the bleeding thing, because there wasn't one!

But I'll betcha you never had a Mr. Wilson suit. You know, the grumpy guy who always yelled at Dennis the Menace, "GET OFF MY LAWN!"

Our school bus had windows that wound up and down. Disgusting schoolboys would have a spitting broadside when two school buses drew level at traffic lights!

I was in Pennsylvania last week for the Little League World Series, which was packed. As were the airports, planes and nearly everything else I encountered. So it's no surprise that I picked up something from one of those folks. Just glad I didn't get sick until Wednesday evening, two days after I got home.

My husband hasn't gotten sick (at least not so far), so I'm isolating in a bedroom/bath at the other end of the house.

This is my third bout. First was December 2020, second was March 2024, and now this one.

Thanks for caring. ♥

I just splurged and bought a bicycle. I'm so excited! I haven't been able to walk lately because my plantar fasciitis has been really bad, and I can't afford a gym membership to get to a pool. I've been renting city bikes, but I decided to just buy one. I can't wait to get riding.

Now if only the snow will hold off for a bit. 🤞 North Dakota winters have been known to start as early as September and often last until mid-May.

Another 2 strings of outdoor solar lights.

I get three seasons out of a string before water intrusion damages them to the point of failure. It doesn't help any that for part of the year they are under inches of snow, being mounted about 6 inches above the ground beneath a row of shrubbery.

I wanted a string as a backup to use when the current string dies, I like this product and its mount for the solar panel and battery. I figured that I could use it up high under the eaves next to the patio out back until I needed it out front.

But the price dropped by 50%, and that was before a 10% off e-coupon. So I bought two strings.

That’s why I haven’t seen you in a while

How are you doing Starsong?
I'm turning the corner, PP. Test this morning was negative. Finally and YAY! My chest is still congested and I have a cough, but not nearly as bad as a few days ago.

The only symptoms that haven't shown significant improvement is muscle fatigue and shortness of breath over the slightest exertion, but apparently that's typical of the most recent Covid strains and both should resolve over the next couple of weeks.

Thanks for caring. ❤️

Went to Walmart today and bought lots of stuff. I spent an unprecedented $130 on cleaning and laundry supplies, cat food, groceries, chair cushions and got these...an unplanned purchase even thought I went with list in hand. I'd never seen them before and think they are cool. I'm sure these will last way longer than Playtex rubber gloves which tend to rip and/or get sticky once they're old. I got the turquoise ones and will use them for dishes.

Some Halloween decorations. We have the three grands in mid October for a few days. I got an idea that we can put up the Halloween decos, something that DH and I usually do right before the day. I'll make some Halloween treats and we'll have a little party.
It occurred to me our decorations are tired and not likely to scare a mouse so I found some things at Dollar tree. Skeleton arms to put under my life size ghost made from a sheet forty years ago. He has two felt black eyes and a scary smile. Now he'll have bony arms.....like me!
LED skeleton heads to stick in the ground, rubber bats, lots of bats, a sign. I bought some window clings at Lowes the other day. One big set for us and one each for them to take home along with a bat of their own.
