What have you bought recently?

I bought an IPad Version 6 from Amazon. We travel a few times a year and I'm tired of watching videos on my IPhone. I really just needed something for that and playing word games. It has been discontinued due to an upgrade, so it was $139 with a discount. I can watch Netflix, Apple+, etc. shows on it and listen to music on it. I was at the tire shop the other day and watched a couple of shows on Apple+.

Occasionally I will access email or financial sites on it. It's instantaneous. Not like my Mac. That's all I need.
that's what I have to use my iPad Air 2 for now.. because it can't take any upgrades now

I just bought a new sofa... except it's in linen and not velvet as in this picture...

Several weeks ago via Amazon bought some weedless terminal salt water fishing tackle. I often went coastal fishing during my 20s but only a day or three each year over the last 3 decades. A brother J is a major enthusiast. A primary difficulty rocky shore fishing on the Pacific Coast is snagging seaweed and mussel beds. One often spends more time rigging up terminal tackle on such days than fishing.

Yesterday rigged up one set with a Carolina Rig that I may try out next week. Love eating many of our delicious salt water fish species.

I did! $4.
:(
That's the most I've ever won, too, and it was a net gain of $2 because the ticket cost $2.

I never played the lottery until last year, on a whim. Then I mistakenly deposited $50 into my online account, so I've bought a ticket now and again.

My most recent purchase was some new color-correcting primer from Sephora. It was $24 for 0.5 oz (!), so I sure hope it works well.

Trying to make up my mind to spend money on a chair that I don't need. Just read online why old people don't spend money. Guilt. We feel guilty about spending our own money. What? But it's true in my case. I feel guilty so I'm waffling 🧇 🧇 🧇 . First I say do, then don't, back to do, then don't again.

My dad used to say, "Just make a decision. It might be the right one or might be the wrong one, just make one."

ETA somewhat later: I did it! I frittered away my kids' inheritance and ordered the chair! Yay. It'll be here Thursday.

Good for you. I carry the same guilt, but I know I earned it and I should spend it. I got no inheritance to speak of from my parents, so…God Bless the Child that’s got his Own- that’s an old Blues song.

Aug.8/2024 the day before the flood hit my property I had a new John Deere X380 Lawn tractor delivered to my house. When I found out how much the house was going to cost to repair I almost wished I had held out on the lawn tractor. Oh Well.
But every time I use it I see how much easier it is on my back than the old one was. It is not going anywhere now.

nothing is too expensive if it helps you control pain.....so sorry to hear you had serious damage to your property...

This is true and I had made up my mind some time ago that If I am going to be able to stay in this place I need to get the things that are going to help me do that. The repairs and such around the house aren't cheap but I am happy with the results so far and gives me some peace of mind.
