What have you bought recently?

Wow! New nail clippers. Your life is even more exciting than mine ;). I've had the same nail clippers for so many years that I can't even remember when I got them.
I have a pair of LaCrosse nail clippers that my Mother owned years before I was born. They were probably made in the late 1930s. I've had them sharpened a few times and their quality is far beyond anything available new in the past 50 years.

Today bought two of these sections of pricy Old Amsterdam Premium Aged Gouda. I'm not knowledgeable of cheeses. A few years ago while web searching for a cheese that would last for say at least 9 days without going bad while out in the wilderness backpacking read about aged Gouda and became a fan. Note normal Gouda and aged Gouda taste quite different. Today found the below web review of Trader Joe's cheeses so may try some other types. Was not surprised to find Aged Gouda was the most highly rated on her list.

I ordered 3 Shea Moisture coconut oil body washes and a 32 oz (plus bonus 2 oz bottle) of Dr. Bonner's Peppermint castile liquid soap, both from Amazon. The larger size Bronner's saves me $10. My son will pick up those orders next week. Today I bought a 3 lb bag of Birdseye frozen broccoli florets, can of pumpkin, almond milk and Bowl & Basket Butter bread, which has become my favorite kind of bread.

Whew! Thought I spent $3.79 on chocolate chips. Nope. It was only $3.76. Love it when I "save" money.

Forgot to mention that I threw caution to the winds and also bought a Mega Millions ticket. Where there's life, there's hope. Right? I'm not greedy. I don't need to win it all, but I'd sure like to win something for a change. After the first of the year, I'm not gonna buy tickets anymore because the price is going up to $5.

Do you buy much online?

Do you prefer to shop in the brick & mortar stores...?

Did you recently get a great bargain, or feel you've paid too much for something ?

Come and share what you've bought in either ....

This week we bought a new Electric telescopic Pole tree saw.. .. which arrived today..alongside a gallon of oil for it..

Still waiting for half the order to arrive even tho' we paid for a specific date for delivery
I just bought 3 math books to share with my Great-Grandchildren. I have to wait 5 to 12 days for them to be delivered. 🥳

I think my daughter will have to take my bank card because I am hooked on buying books online. 😂

Especially one bookseller knows how to find me when I am online and they know what kind of books I can not resist. 🤪

Seeds for winter crops in the four new high beds which are finished.
Cuddle Duds fleece leggings in grey/yellow/white and a tunic hoodie in grey. Absolutely oversized. SO's comment - the new winter uniform for mouse in the kitchen. Mouse! Mouse! I will show you some rat! He is right though.

I had to buy an ink cartridge for my printer. Fifty bucks. That's crazy. And a total rip-off. I bet they'd make a reasonable profit if they charged like $12 or $15.
I know someone who used to just buy cheap printers when they needed them, used the inks which came with them and then sold the inkless printers on Ebay. I am not sure there would be a market for them today though.

As far as I know, some cartridges are still refillable, but manufacturers did find ways to make them non-refillable.

I suspect they also changed the ink so it dries out quicker! We got rid of our printer as we didn't use it so much anymore and the last inks dried out quicker than they used to. If we want to print anything, we go to the local library or the post office, the library is cheaper.

A red canning jar. This is the second one I’ve found. I use them to store refrigerated items. Red is easier to spot. $.25.

I didn’t see any really large jars today. I think I could use these for freezing batches of soup. Considering I’ve been using Rubbermaid or similar plastic containers for years, it’s likely to late too avoid any health issues.

I use my printer-copier quite a bit. But they are becoming obsolete.

Like, when I lived at the low-income apartments, every year I had to make copies of my bank statement, ID, SS statement, and other stuff, and take it up to the office so I could be re-certified (or they let people use their copy-printer).

But now you can just send images from your phone or in a pdf file from your computer. Lots of businesses and agencies let you do it that way.

Our local Office-Max lets you use their printer for only a few cents per page.

I bought an extra battery for my ebike. This will allow me to easily ride 50-60 miles in a day. The regular price was $499 and I was not doing that. BF sale (weeks now) price was $349 so I grabbed one. I have put 1400 miles on the bike in 1.5 years and I enjoy it. No more motorcycles for me so this is as close as it gets.

I just bought some Butterkase and some Havarti cheese. Havarti is good with grapes.
I don't think I ever had Butterkase but I like it. Buttery!

I finally found knee-high fashion boots that lie flush along my calves! I've been looking for boots that don't have a "wide calf" fitting for 2 or 3 years, but every pair I found had at wide gap around my calves that I didn't like; it looked a bit sloppy.

Every search I did on "lace-up fashion boots for women" or something along those lines led me to rather smutty lingerie sites, which I am definitely not interested in at my age. 😁

Now that I think of it, perhaps I should buy a second pair for the future.

I have never used my printer/scanner/copier more than I've had it use this last year going through the divorce procedure.. You would not believe the huge reams of documents that had to be scanned in, copied and printed, and those had to copied 3 or 4 times..it was just a huge undertaking. At first I really didn't know how to scan anything in, because I'd never had to.. the O/h had always done that part of it, I only knew how to just copy a document.. so I had to learn all of that as well..and when it jammed up, and refused to work.. I had to learn how to dismantle it to fix it...

I can't tell you how many times I thanked God I had the machine.. because it would have nigh on impossible for me to have to drive to a library, sometimes every other day and do this as well as deal with everything else... even my lawyer said that she knew it was a completely overhelming task, which is why they employ someone else to do theirs.... but if any machine earned it's place in my home this year.. it's that Canon..

I used mine more than usual while Paxton lived here. Being a foster parent plus trying to prove to no less than a half-dozen people that Paxton's mother was abusing him; there were a lot of documents, charts, and letters I needed to keep copies of.

It just sux that the ink is so pricey. I know it shouldn't be...it's way over-priced.

I know that's the major problem.....I tried using generic ink, but it was no good....
